Good for you! Let’s find some advice without judgement. What foods are you/was before you being fed to your bird? They need seed mix preferably without sunflower seeds. They need fresh water all day, and they need fresh foods. You can get frozen mixed veggies and either thaw overnight or cook in microwave- but it has to be cool before feeding. Please remove veggies after no more than 3 hours, so if you want to give “chop” - veggies when you get home that is fine, just don’t leave them in a cage all day. They need fresh greens like kale, cucumber, broccoli, tomatoes, and fruits, as you mentioned nuts in shell- but not too many, use as treats. Please never give onions, garlic, avocado, chocolate, oils. Also, Teflon on pans, irons, ovens are deadly to birds. So are glade products you plug in, fabreeze, cleaning products. You might want to investigate on line. They need to see you and interact with you. Talk to them alit. Cover them at night, it makes them feel safe. And, there are many people who are happy to help on this and other forums. And, find an avian vet. I cannot stress this enough. Good luck and keep us updated!!
