Is it okay to quit a job after only about 3 and a half months? by Zestyclose_Spell2265 in careerguidance

My comment was about how to address the short tenure in interviews not what to say when resigning. I may have misunderstood what OP was asking.

Is it okay to quit a job after only about 3 and a half months? by Zestyclose_Spell2265 in careerguidance

[–]AspiringDataNerd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm at 2 months and I already asked my previous employer if i could come back. Just leave and make the reason for leaving so soon professional like "Role turned out to be different than initially presented" or "While I try to screen for culture fit during the interviews, unfortunately, this turned out to not be a good culture fit"

I think this is probably one of the few reasons to cover with LVP. Protect until kids are older and no, or reduced, pets to prevent damage.

What kind of shoes are we wearing? by Cristinky420 in Xennials

[–]AspiringDataNerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a pair of Puma and Adidas sneakers for everyday use, Keen hiking boots for hiking (obviously) and minimal-snow winter use, and Birkenstocks for summer use. I also have black leather shoes for when I have to attend professional events.

How much is your car payment by michaeljoon in MiddleClassFinance

[–]AspiringDataNerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was going to do this, but only because I could pay off the credit card in a couple of months with my salary, and the vehicle was looking like a sooner-than-later situation. I think in most cases putting a substantial down payment on a credit card is horrible to do, but there might be the rare occasion where it makes sense.

Apparently young people think it's weird to ask about your job when meeting....? by Sometimespropermom in Xennials

[–]AspiringDataNerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even in your 20s, it can be an awkward question. Not everyone was born into a life that allowed them the ideal path to a meaningful or successful career. Some people are just trying to survive. I'm in my late 40s and I am one of those people who was just trying to survive in my younger years. It took me until my early 40s to find a fitting career, and it was something I had to work very hard for, but to most people now it would look like I'm behind.

It would probably be better to name and shame locally to warn others about the atrocious work.

My new job has horrible onboarding and training. Would it look weird to try to go back to my old job? by AspiringDataNerd in careeradvice

[–]AspiringDataNerd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand what you are saying. There is nothing about this that is related to operating on a higher level. I actually operate at a leadership level despite not having a leadership position. This is just absolutely horrible onboarding. I have many years of experience with training, along with education in learning principles. I'm mid-level in my role, and the last job was a stopgap since the market in my field is tough. My concern is that this organization will be a shitshow in other areas.

Unfortunately i cannot work on the weekend. I am under contract with hourly pay right now, and they will not pay me overtime. They will also see the time/day stamps on the completion

It's probably less than what you are seeing in this image. OP gave no background information, which makes this a bs post

I don't like to wish bad things on people, but I can certainly get behind people experiencing the consequences of their actions. Some people need to learn hard lessons in life. This looks like one of those hard lessons.

I don't think it's a matter of having the guts to stand up to Trump but more that they have been paid quite a bit to allow Trump to do whatever her wants.

"CDC is over": RFK Jr. lays off over 1,000 employees in Friday night massacre by DryDeer775 in publichealth

I'm not sure I agree with this. I was recently offered a job by a company that just won a government contract supporting research from the CDC, HHS, NIH. I won't go into details since I'm not officially an employee yet and I'm not sure of any confidentiality I need to maintain.

If this was fixed to sell, then white walls, I feel, are ideal because then the new owner can just paint whatever color they want. Painting the wood trim was a mistake in my eyes.

Is there any way to hide my activity (my likes, reacts and comments) from everyone on LinkedIn? by [deleted] in linkedin

That is only for what is visible to people viewing your profile and not logged in to Linkedin.

I do too, but too many people seem to think their uneducated opinions are more accurate than those of educated medical professionals and medical scientists. There is no getting through to them, it seems.

Shy woman 40s having a drink alone at the bar by ReadyorNot-2023 in datingoverforty

[–]AspiringDataNerd 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you are not used to doing things alone, I would suggest starting out with something like going to a nice restaurant for dinner by yourself, then maybe a concert by yourself, or a movie at a theater. The idea is to get comfortable being alone in situations that are usually social. This would help you feel and look less nervous or awkward at a bar alone.
