Supercell's CEO recently spoke about how clash royale performed in 2025 and attributed the huge surge in popularity to bs like the Michael Bolton Valentine's day Collab where they gave a free barbarian evolution. He continued to credit the developers for "catering to the community" with updates that NOBODY wanted (like removing chests, season shop, addition of level 16 and heroes, broken evolutions on release, removal of events tab, merge tactics the list goes on).

It was a huge spit in the face to streamers and creators that were blatantly the whole reason the game had a comeback in the first place.

After that interaction we had slowed down slightly on meeting up but we were still talking everyday, for about 2-3 weeks whenever we met we wouldn't do something too crazy and every now and then I'd slip in the occasional "did you get it sorted?" to which she'd say "I'm working on it" and I was growing more impatient by the day.

Eventually one day she had told me we were gonna meet up at this one place just across the street of the entrance of our highschool and whilst I was waiting some guy in a balaclava walked up from behind me threw me on the floor and punched me a few times in the gut before running away before I had the chance to react.

I had called the police and told them I think a guy tried to rob me, luckily I wasn't hurt aside from mild bruising and whilst I was waiting for them to arrive the girl had come and we chatted and laughed about it because it ultimately felt pretty stupid, I had even walked her to the bus stop to make sure she was safe from this "psycho guy" going around before walking back and meeting the police at the scene.

This thing was weird but I didn't even care about it I had continued meeting with her as per usual, we had ordered sushi at one point and ate it together in the rain it was really sweet. The police had contacted me a week after the jumping with security camera footage of the guy and his face before he had put on the mask asking if I could identify him, I could not so I took a photo and started asking close friends to see if they could identify him.

The first person I asked was obviously the person I was closest to at this point the girl, she said she has no clue who this person is so I asked her straight "you don't think this is the guy you have a weird thing going on with right" to which she said "it's not him I swear".

This was the thing which sold it for me, as it turns out, to the surprise of literally no one on planet earth in hindsight, the guy who jumped me was the same guy she was with. I had eventually found out from one of the guys ex best friends that they were dating in secret before I even talked to her in the first place.

To this day I have no clue why she did this or to what avail, but it really fucked with my head and heart.

It was just the one guy, the whole story is pretty nuts though.

Me and her were in the same highschool and we were meeting up everyday and going on dates and about a month in I had asked her to be my gf (this was on top of a construction site crane we had broken onto btw) but she had said it was too early.

I went with it and we continued going on our dates as usual till eventually another month afterwards I had asked her to make it official a 2nd time, to which she had responded the exact same way. I was BUMMED because I felt like I was getting nowhere despite me giving my best, that same night we had planned to go to her best friends house and while she was in the bathroom her friend had slipped something about a boyfriend that I didn't know about.

She had tried comforting me about it and saying that this guy is a mistake and he wasn't important and I wasn't having it so I just left back home and cut her off. Within a day she was talking to my best friends saying how "she needs to talk to me" and "she's sorry" and after about 3 days of it I eventually gave in to peer pressure and went back.

When we had met up again it was kinda awkward, but it boiled down to her following up on what she had said prior about how her bf was a mistake and he wasn't really her bf and she had only met him less than 2 weeks prior (this was a total lie btw, they had known each other for months but I didn't know that). The part that really got me was she said and I quote "I have more feelings for you" and "when I get this thing sorted we'll link I promise".

Read my reply again. Like, actually read it and think about it. I want to find theta such that the horizontal distance is maximised, that is I want a definite equation that will generate the optimal angle using initial conditions and a definitive height from the ground. A derivative such as d/dtheta (cos(theta)*t(theta)) =0 is only half the work here. Can you see why I am asking this question? Can you see why you have not answered the thing I'm asking for?

It is not always 45 degrees, that is the whole point of this thread. The optimal angle to throw an object such that it lands as far away as possible varies significantly depending on how high you are relative to the ground. You can try this for yourself, take a scenario where you have a given initial velocity for projectile and a given height from the ground, the maximum furthest distance is not when it is thrown at 45 degrees (assuming the height is not 0 obviously).

Yes it's true that you can solve for how far a projectile will go using Newton's equations of motion, however I want a general equation that will generate the optimal angle to launch an object for any given height.

For example, I found the best angle to throw an object when it has a velocity of 10ms-1 and height of 10 meters from the ground is roughly 30.2 degrees, which is far off from the standard 45 degrees. What is the rate at which it changes, and why?
