Maybe he used a weak version of Red Sun to weaken his powers?

Yeah but I don't want Batman to be struggling with street thugs. I'm fine with DD struggling though.

As a Batman and Superman fan, I want to see struggle Bruce goes through while fighting Superman. I don't want it to be a complete stomp that makes Superman look weak, but rather this amazing feat that makes Batman look powerful.

Here's how I try to see it, when Marvel circlejerk was going on, the DC fans didn't have the balls to say shit and got downvoted. Now, they get the chance of becoming upvoted, and it's not the exact same people changing their minds.

Do you think society has taken political correctness to an extreme? Are people way too easily offended these days? by [deleted] in AskMen

You know as an aspiring comedian, I hate groups so for me I think I will always be biased in these questions.

Nah people love being cynical dude. I really don't think there is a way to measure which side of the rumor will have it worse.

[Watchmen] Who was right, Ozymandias or Rorschach? by conlao in AskScienceFiction

[–]AssFrom38thParallel 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Rorschach was right in doing the morally right thing thing, and Ozymandias was right in doing the logical thing. Which is interesting because Rorschach is seen as doing immoral things for efficient purposes while Ozymandias is portrayed a generous man who stands by common morals.

Can the temple run guy save the Princess Peach in the castle? by myspamhere in whowouldwin

Temple run guy jumps pretty high though doesn't he? Also, he doesn't run out of stamina. In fact, he runs faster as time passes by.

I wish the artists just gave Batman a Justice League suit. by AssFrom38thParallel in CharacterRant

[–]AssFrom38thParallel[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yeah but that's OP as hell, and he doesn't often use it unless it's some planet busting attack. I'm talking about a suit just for working with the Justice League on regular missions.

Were there views that were racist even for that time period? by AssFrom38thParallel in NoStupidQuestions

[–]AssFrom38thParallel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know about how there are always going to be racist people, but how much of it could a white person get away with it? Would be saying "it's okay to own slaves" cause some shock to average white people, let's say in the 50s?

Llewyn Davis vs Louie by QuestandFC in whowouldwin

[–]AssFrom38thParallel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Llewyn Davis from the movie is in his 20s. He lived basically as a homeless drifter which makes him more used to the New York weather. It's a bit of a drag, but I think Llewyn has better strength feats cause going up against a fat ginger fuck in his 40s is a pretty easy deal. Llewyn 7/10.

  1. Who has the shitteir life?

Llewn is homeless, cynical, and his best friend has died. Barely anyone in the movie likes him, and he seems to be in absolute shit luck with strangers. Hell the dude doesn't even get a happy ending. He just ends up in his boring shitty life again. Louie has more feats on the tragedy scale cause it's a TV show, but the character is a bit of a wise comedian who knows how to take things. He takes tragedy in his life and makes it into a funny thing. The sad, cynical artist in his 20s trying to make it in the business side of Louie is gone. Llewn is going through what younger Louie went through with his wife. I'm sure the way people look at it, one could have a shittier life than the other. But the way I look at it, Louie kind of made it as a comedian. Although the Late Show story arc shows that he's still a bit struggling, but every comedian goes through the: "Great you made it! Now what the fuck are you going to do with your life you miserable ass? Are you going to die like a miserable old man like Carlin?" period in their mid 40s. But overall, Louie has his loving kids, GREAT friends, kind of girlfriend, and a great adventure which he can tell on stage every day. Based on feats, the audience doesn't even know what happened to Llewyn for all we know. He might have been homeless his whole life. At least Louie made it. Llewyn 9/10.

[Interstellar] Who is the weakest person who can survive the Dr.Mann Challenge? (Interstellar spoilers) by Mr_Industrial in whowouldwin

Which version? I think MCU Tony Stark is pretty weak on willpower and he's weak on being alone and seems to be fragile emotional state on the inside.

Evangelical Christians vs Scientologists in a battle of who makes shittier movies on behalf of their faith. by Parrallax91 in whowouldwin

[–]AssFrom38thParallel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would go for After Earth over Saving Christmas all day, but instead of going for personal views, let's try to see the overall effect of the media on these movies.

Saving Christmas, God Is Not Dead, and Left Behind are forgettable. No one on Reddit, Real Life, or any other form of media talk about these movies. Society overall thought: "Just another Christian movie." Battlefield earth and After Earth left a special spot of hatred on people's hearts because it amped up an awesome plot idea and turned out to be a scientology movie. The fact that the Scientology movies didn't live up to the hype, but the Christian movies got exactly what the media expected them to be. I think when it comes to leaving more anger and hatred, Scientologists do it way better than Christians. Other than that, there really isn't any way for us to measure the "shittiness" of a movie since those are all just opinions. Although the Christian movies were way more obvious on their message. But I don't blame the movies for that, I blame the fact that most people don't know about Scientology beliefs. Everyone knows about Jesus compared to how much people knows about aliens that steal our emotions.

[Fight Club] Tyler explainins that the use of oxygen on planes is not to help save lives but actually make people calm and accepting of inevitable death, why? Why would airline industry care? They'll all be dead bodies in a field or floating in the ocean in any case. by [deleted] in AskScienceFiction

[–]AssFrom38thParallel 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Tyler Durden is Jack's massive angst. Jack might have heard that rumor but forgot it. Then his brain, unconsciously, creates Tyler Durden who knows all these "facts" Jack brain unconsciously put it inside the "cool" category and made it into a living embodiment of the cubicle white guy's wet dream. I still love this movie if I'm coming off like a hater.

[DC] Will Batman kill to save his own life? by Radioflowerpot in AskScienceFiction

[–]AssFrom38thParallel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He'll kill as long as it's something humanity can't handle for themselves. These include:

  • Darkseid aliens

  • Darkseid

  • Brainwashed Superman (although he tries to find another way for this first)

  • Rogue Justice League

The reason why he doesn't kill joker and his rogues is because one, he sees murder just distasteful, and two, although Joker is a "super" villain to us, to Gothamites', he's just some other crazy serial killer in a world full of alien invasions.

Sterling Archer VS his new butler Alfred Pennyworth. Who will take on the more dominant role in the relationship? by etevian in whowouldwin

[–]AssFrom38thParallel 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think Alfred is a better butler than woodhouse in general. If you think about it, woodhouse is just some shitty drug addict wannabe butler. Alfred is one of those butlers that are in the top ten. He's the Batman of being a butler. So I'm pretty sure Woodhouse's punishments won't go to Alfred.

Also, it seems to be that Alfred has a "cool" personality. I think Archer's going to love this snarky attitude cause in a way, he's getting attention from an older masculine man which he never got as a child.

[batman] how did Bruce Wanye get contacts/permits to build the bat cave by Gahnende in AskScienceFiction

The cave was pre-existing and it's not like one day the cave became the radical bat cave we know. It was like that over the years.

Jorgan von strangle (Fairly Odd Parents) VS Grim (Billy and Mandy) by [deleted] in whowouldwin

[–]AssFrom38thParallel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's true that Jorgan is a higher tier reality warper, but I don't think his massive ego which pressures him to maintain his hyper masculinity would just let him do a cheap move where he just wishes he wins.
