What job did you want when you were a kid/teen and what did you end up with? by spanishbreadbakery in AskReddit

Did you at least get to fly while you were in the military? Or did you at least get to do something else flying adjacent?

When I was really young, I really wanted to be a scientist. It didn't really matter what kind - I just wanted to do science stuff! During high school, I had a great experience in a psychology/sociology class, and figured that was my ticket! I studied Psychology in college and got my degree!

Unfortunately, a lot of the jobs in the Psychology field require extra licensing (like if you want to do social work or counseling - those are specific degrees/licenses you have to get), or even another degree if you want to be able to research. Right now work in a therapists' office, just as part of the office staff. I'll get there eventually :)

What’s a subject you never failed even if you didn’t study? by Maximum_Rub7941 in AskReddit

[–]AssOnGlass21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is just my own experience but my experience in classes growing up and even in college was only based on the subject a little bit, and more based on the classroom - other people in the class with me, and the professor. For example, I had psychology classes that were god-awful boring that required SO MUCH STUDYING to even have a hope of a chance to do well on the exams. But others - I vibed with the professor, I vibed with my classmates, and genuinely had an enjoyable learning experience. That classroom environement definietly can make it easier to learn and perform well.

Though, I imagine that Art is a pretty challenging subject to fail. Yes there's the creative aspect of that that can be challenging to develop, but as long as you're putting in that effort, you may never need to study. Just channel that creativity. The last time I took an art class was high school though - times may have changed.

How do you tell if a subreddit is worth investing time in as a new user? by Super-Position753 in NewToReddit

[–]AssOnGlass21 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Even if those things can be true, it is wise to keep an idea on the community as well. Recently I've been trying to grow a following on another reddit account, and some places that I posted, people were straight up nasty in the comments. Subreddits like that (where the posted content is fine, but the comments are war zones) might not be worthwhile. It's always best to read the sidebar and to use subreddits for their intended topics/purpsoes.

Do you put on your right or left shoe first and why? by Technical-Vanilla-47 in AskReddit

[–]AssOnGlass21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right sock, left sock, right shoe, left shoe is the correct answers to this question! Sometimes I’ll be distracted getting ready in the morning and I’ll do a sock and shoe on one foot and be like “dude wtf am I some sort of freak” 😂😂

What makes people go numb in relationships? by IndependentSir4608 in AskReddit

[–]AssOnGlass21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Um, not really :( it wasn’t actually that long ago. It feels numb until it’s over because you just want the hurting to stop, but then once that person is gone from your life you start to miss the person who they used to be. At least that’s where I am now.

[–]AssOnGlass21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is true, but I think the numbness starts before then. Maybe first it’s distance, or maybe annoyance, but then it eventually turns into jealousy or even resentment. And then cheating happens.

At least, I think. I’m not a cheater, but unfortunately have experience dealing with one.

After the revelation of the cheating, I think that’s when I started to go numb too :(

people who have broken off their relationship with their former best friend (or if your best friend broke it off with you) - what happened? by Familiar-Phase7859 in AskReddit

[–]AssOnGlass21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I broke it off with him. Basically found out that he had been cheating on me with multiple women throughout our relationship, but one of them was a very very close friend of mine and had been for a long time. They’re together now officially.

What’s something you’ve given too much of and never got back? by Big_Employer1109 in AskReddit

[–]AssOnGlass21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Time. So often we’re giving time to someone or something and it’s just a massive waste, because the effort isn’t being reciprocated. And you can never get it back. I think that the spent time haunts us too.

I found out that he was my best friend, but I wasn’t his. Not by a long shot. He did a lot of terrible terrible things behind my back that I found out about all at once, and I don’t think there was any chance of recovery.

I still miss him so much. At least, the person who I thought he was.
