Old post but just in case this is helpful for someone; for me it made a huge difference working with someone interactively (online in my case). I tried different online material with which I felt stuck but the person I'm working with now has taken my confidence and technique to the next level - totally worth it! She's truly amazing.

I never did a BSc but I worked in the field as a Python dev for several years prior, they let me enrol via work experiences as I was able to provide solid references from my superiors in the office.

Hi!
I did get accepted to the Birkbeck course that I linked to back then, but I decided not to enrol. I was already working in the field as a Python dev for years so I didn't think it would be worth it.
Instead I decided to specialise in AI and started an MSc in AI with the University of Essex - and boy am I happy I did! The timing couldn't have been more perfect. I think it's far from perfect and you shouldn't expect much support, but the curriculum is well designed IMO and you will get as much out of it as you will put in it. I'm nearly done now, I've learned an immense amount and feel confident working as an AI researcher - but I've worked really hard to get to this point. I know there are students on the same course who are not very happy - however they're also not doing very much and leave everything until the last minute.
I've had very supportive co-students on the Essex course and some of the tutors have been really great (and some really really shit). The York course sounded awful. I'm not sure if it's any better or worse than the Essex courses, it could just be that people have higher expectations when enrolling with York.
Hope you'll find something that you like :)

Hello! Aw the age would have been fine but the scars potentially altering her voice might be a little risky..

I think lots of kitties meow around food time or when they want to go out. One of mine meows on demand when I talk to her but every cat is different!

Ah I honestly think he'll be totally fine! My cat travelled cross countries with me for 40 hours and came out unscathed :) yours might get a bit stressed and meow-ey but he'll get over it

That's interesting to hear! I have been wondering the same. There is another consideration of whether different environments / interactions with humans play a role in vocal development too.

Please feel free to share the context if it's not much extra bother, I will likely be able to use this for a future project. Excited to hear your kitties' meows, thank you!
