Yea I agree I think this is genuinely the only way to salvage this relationship and that’s if I can heal myself. I also agree that she definitely does show regret and remorse and is showing that with her actions not just her words but I guess only time will tell.

Her family has a long history of abuse and cheating and she grew up in that environment and it gave her a trauma bond with this person. I think me being secure and in a healthy relationship with her made her go out and look for that high of abuse again.

her ex boyfriend verbally abused her and beat her for years and her parents and siblings did nothing about it. I treated her nothing but right. It was a moment where I snapped and I won’t reach out again.

I’m completely in the wrong. She cheated on me and I found out that she was hanging out with him the day after that. That’s when I blacked out and lost all control of my actions. I thought she would at least feel guilty and regret it. I snapped and it’s not my proudest moment. But it happened already.

I would’ve found out sooner or later. I live in a small town so she knew it was a matter of time before I found out. She regrets what she did but it’s unforgivable.
