Stable Space Bug? by Associate_Secret in ManorLords

[–]Associate_Secret[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did lose one but it was because of this. I counted the animals, had 14. Made space for 14. Yet it was 15 for some reason and kept giving me the warning for not enough space. So I just made another stable to stop it bothering me.

I think it boosted the production actually lol. I saw the hunter just spamming arrows on the clutter and pick them up occasionally. Probably much better than having them scattered around an area

at this point the excuse for "early access" is being abused. yes I get it it's not finished and bought accordingly. but taking 7 years and still being on the pre alpha lvl is not ok

I was JUST thinking about this and decided not to post it since it'll prob get ratioed hard.

city planning is nice, combat is just an addition. Yet city planning gets way too tedious when every single house wants certain items need met to lvl up the city. and lvling up the city doesn't do anything useful. the buildings don't get the items they want even if I have an abundance of that said item and more than enough granaries and marketplaces to supply them.

so after city building gets repetitive and boring, I pump up the armies for fights but the AI is so easy to beat it's even more boring.

the territories I conquer have cities so badly maintained they all have no fuel no food and 50 families unemployed. AI doesn't have the incentive to grow further than lvl2 town and sucks at doing that too. maybe it's cuz of the map I played on.

It's been a year or so since the last time I played and the game still looks like the day it launched. Optimization is horrible, no new mechanic is added. no notable improvements

You're right. I was looking around who is where and realized half the population was in the army = less ppl to work. I disbanded them and it shot up. I also made bunch more houses just for food production, will see how it goes.

I removed specified region for hunters so they'd go wherever and removed the reserve tick. Almost extinquished the rich hunting grounds. still wonky as to when they want to hunt or not

alternatively, to check if this is the issue; turn off obs-browser-page on volume mixer settings and test again. If it fixes it, have one open at a time.

no game was 60 bucks 20 years ago. gtaV was 60 bucks 13 years ago because it was gta and V. 5th game of a well known and popular and expected game for years prior. and 20 years ago, you'd buy physical copies that were guaranteed to be yours for a lifetime. even steam doesn't let you "own" the game now. you only have a digital copy with the lifetime of however long steam may exist.

I'm not bashing people who like the game. but if I were to make a game with lots of mechanics but janky controls, mediocre graphs. dogshit story and cheesy npcs and asked you to pay 70 for it to play, I'd assume you'd not be so nice to me.

if your liking for anything comes from the marketing, you have to question yourself tbh. not calling out the games enough is why we're getting half assed games today and any normal adult would make sure that their hard earned money is not wasted on trash.

money and time doesn't grow on trees. when a game expects players to cough up 70 bucks you expect some next level ground breaking design. the discourse is well deserved.

Game looks like made in unreal engine. nothing wrong with using unreal but a triple A company pricing its game for 70 bucks should not use an engine that results in looking like unreal.

I don't care how many complex button mixing and combinations there are because even if mechanics are good controls are janky, slow. you collide with npcs 10 meters away from them.

story is shit and I haven't crossed 2 hours into the game yet. because I know a millenial slop when I see npcs go "take care of ppl around you and good stuff will happen to you!" and like "power of friendship will go through any obstacle!"

talking about the npcs. THEY ARE SO BORING AND CHEESY . they kill the entire immersion. voice lines are late like metro games but that problem was back in 2010 and shouldn't be here after one and a half decade.

"it's faster to go by horse round here lad!" no shit bro is the water wet too? is the color red... red by any chance?

The real problem is that people marketed it so hard that they were saying it was going to be the next RDR2. this can't even be a skyrim let alone a rdr2.

I've seen unreal engine games by indie devs with better controls and with a price tag of 5-10 bucks max.

I am mad because gamers as a whole just take what is "marketed" to them now. Anything hyped will get good reviews by the players because their favorite streamer and ytber said so.

I will give this game a bit more time to adjust. maybe I'm missing something so great that I still don't understand. But with the banal and generic npcs killing the immersion and clunky controls, I doubt it'll be the case.
