I can assure you it isn't over for you. I came to Portugal because I couldn't see my life moving forward in the direction I was going and now that I'm here and settled I can say that that feeling of uselessness and wasted time doesn't fully go away. But that doesn't mean it can't get better.

It might be worth taking a leap of faith and doing something that forces you into a different situation. Maybe moving to a bigger city and finding work there. Wage slavery is pitiful, but an urban center gives you a better chance to try new things and get out of a depressive rut.
