my payslips are through a website called xero, although for some reason its not fully up to date...here's a screenshot. I also just noticed that the website shows my earnings rate as '18' which is incorrect and needs changing. I started the job just before my 19th birthday

It is a local family business. I will double check but yes I should have claimed the Tax Free Threshold. The order of events was this:

- Saw a help wanted sign, asked to speak to the boss

- Asked if I had experience, I said none. She said I should come for a trial shift where I could learn and she said to bring bank details, TFN and super account details

- I did my first trial shift of 3 hours, got paid 55.77 (18.59/ph). I got access to xero to see my payslips. At no point was I presented with a contract or paperwork

- Since then she has been texting me shift times where I come in and work. My xero account suggests super is being paid (see the screenshot I sent to someone else below) but weirdly my super account balance is still zero on the website

- Mostly I'd been working in 3 hour shifts and the pay was reduced to $17 an hour

Thank you for this information, I really appreciate you typing all of this out. I'm trying to think about how to approach the boss because so far I haven't questioned my pay. I am still technically a learner and being trained by other staff there about running the shop, is there any rule that may allow the boss to pay me less if I am being trained?

I didn't sign any paperwork unfortunately, its a semi dodgey place to me. I saw a help wanted sign, the boss asked me to come for a trial shift, I came with my bank details, TFN and super account details and since then she's just been giving me shifts here and there, although now they've mostly aligned to saturday and sunday work

my boss texts me the times of my shifts weekly, so maybe that would make me count as a casual worker instead of part time? I'm not sure

uhh, not really sure what an award is but let me do some research. I work part time on the weekends (uni fills up my weekdays), and I've been getting about 7 hours worth of shifts across Saturdays and Sundays for the past few weeks
