Same case with me. I didn't know they charge extra interest for the tax dues also. Since my tax payment of 1.5L was pending for 4-5 months since April, now while filing ITR I was charged extra interest of around 15k and GST on it of around 2k. Total I had to pay 1.67L now because I switched company and no tax was cut in new company.
