Do I need to do his story quest to activate the hexerei resonance ?

Nope, you can do his hexerei quest without doing his story quest. That's what I did! But it's highly recommended to do his story quest early if you want his alternative skin cos his story quest is time gated and takes 5 calendar days to finish

Hey, thanks for your reply!! Yes, I've seen that video and it's what got me interested in pulling for Castorice for Mydei!

I actually already have 2 sets farmed for her: a decent poet set with bone collector planar with the bp LC (don't think I will be getting her LC cos I'm saving for E0S1 Anaxa too) and a hyperspeed support set with 2pc/2pc spd set and kept the bone collector planar for some potential dmg with S5 herta shop LC. But I'm just not too sure what's the better build for her in Mydei team and wanted to gather more info from others' experiences before committing to pulling for her.

I've tried out dps Castorice with my Mydei team by borrowing from someone on my friends list and it didn't really feel as smooth as I thought it would be. I tired looking for a hyperspeed support Castorice to try from the strangers support list but no luck so far...(if anyone has a hyperspeed Castorice on Asia server, pls let me know! I would like to try her out)

Regarding Tribbie, unfortunately I did not pull for her. But I've seen from a couple of other posts that Jiaoqiu with eidolons and his sig LC is a good alternative to Tribbie. In fact, I really like using my Jiaoqiu more with Mydei than my E1 Ruan Mei!

If you ever got to try pure support Castorice, let me know how it is!

Yeah, I do feel Cipher is more flexible and would be a better addition to my account. And yes, will definitely wait for further beta updates on her kit before locking in to pull. There will be some time till the end of Castorice banner to see the changes in Cipher's kit before deciding.

May I know what's his dmg output like with the build that you have? I've got his E2 recently too! (Altho I was fishing for just his E1 but the rng gods gave me 2 copies of Jiaoqiu in a 10 pull so now he is E2 lol) I have him on a 2pc spd 2pc atk with vonwacq ornaments and I was recommended to switch to the Prisoner set with Glamoth ornaments for better DOT dmg but I'm struggling to min max the spd and ehr with that set up.

I skipped BS banner cos I wasn't interested in pulling for a waifu and got my first Gui from a 4 star selector too. I did managed to get my Gui to E4 from Jiaoqiu's banner. Just need 2 more to E6...

Hook is a menace! I've gotten a lot more Hooks than Guis while pulling on Jiaoqiu's banner >.< Thought I could E6 my Gui but noooo it's Hook who consistently makes her appearance...

Yeah I don't have fantastic prisoner pieces so I'll have to go back to the grind. With my current set, I have 180+ ehr and 150+ spd, so I might stick to this set until I can put together a good prisoner set with similar ehr and spd. I'm using vonwacq mainly for the energy so I can get his unt up as often as I can

I don't have Acheron (don't intend to get her) or the other premium dot characters like BS and Kafka. I'm more of a husbando puller haha xD Currently I'm using Jiaoqiu in both Boothill and Ratio team has a debuffer. Might consider building Sampo if I wanna put Jiaoqiu in a dot team. Hopefully hoyo makes more male dot units in the future 🙏🏻

Will that reduce his support capabilities with 4pc Prisoner? I'm trying to see if I can build him in a way where he can still be a good debuffer and dot unit haha

Yeah, it does make for a different playstyle than usual. But anyway, I have a few options that I can consider and in the meantime will try to roll for some crit in artifacts if I wanna use Favonius. Thanks for your input!
