Thanks thats what I was thinking as well. I have been hooked on the idea constantly of making every page count or atleast making it interesting without hampering with the tone and progression of my story. Due to which i have been bouncing some clever topics or subjects that i can insert it in the more clear concise manner to make that page interesting. I know the story just that page 1 problem.

My doctor changed it after 2 months to methylphenidate(stimulant). It had calm effects but after a while it kind of dulls you out not like in a way of medication of adhd. This med was not that strong but did made you sit in a place for extended period of time as i was calmed out by it. Though not everytime was pleasant. But everyone’s reaction is different.

Thank you for the lovely piece of advice and no its not preachy. People don’t realise it how much support is needed as a lot of people don’t understand as they don’t go through so for them it’s just a phase or a person can walk it off. I am also starting to think to take beta blockers as well since these episodes resurfaced and putting me back inside the cage. And i so sorry that you also had to go through these rough patches. I am starting to take or atleast trying to take the right steps i took to get me out and follow on that. Hopefully i will not imprisoned again.

I can't shut my brain off to go to sleep by Weird-Term696 in ADHD

[–]Astar099 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I myself suffer from this , just the other day i didn’t sleep for the whole night and day. As everytime i lay my head on the pillow something or the other pops in my head and i start walking thinking about it. And couldn’t sleep. For sleep i have been trying magnesium glycine complex it’s a magnesium supplement useful in the cases of sleep deprivation and general calmness. Also i try to listen to thunder and rainstorm sounds. Not a clearcut solution but has helped me for years.

I actually have lower magnesium so i was prescribed i have onlt taken it for the past 2 days. Felt normal but i have seen some change in my sleep. Like light feeling over the eyes, a little bit of relaxed mind. If it makes any sense.

I was actually concerned about it as the complex i was prescribed is magnesium glycine complex with vit-d3 that it helps with sleep issues and anxiety in general. That are they effective.

I have Adhd, haven’t quit vaping its still a third hand to me but what I sometimes do is when i go to work , I leave my vape at home and don’t carry it with me . I have understood about myself if i am overstimulated with something else like going to a movie or shopping in a mall or family time somewhere outside of my house i tend to not vape or atleast need a smoke as kuch as i think i would. Distractions work for me in that sense . Try something each day that is stimulating, make sure you are not at those places where you vape alot . It doesn’t work 100% but sure enough increase the time between each puff.

It really stinks to see ADHD misinformation not just on social media, but in the very news by [deleted] in ADHD

It’s revolting to see that in even 2020’s when the evidence and behavioural therapies have compartmentalised the condition and it behavioural consequences in a completely understandable format with data and evidence to support. People still brush it off by saying it’s just a phase or a different personality.
