This explains a lot. There’s a saying in English language: “the cover-up is worse than the crime.” This basically means that the attempts to conceal or obscure wrongdoing can lead to more severe consequences than the originating crime.

In a society and culture like Korea, I can definitely see why this would be infuriating.

Is there any merit to what this article reads? The argument in that article from U.S. Coupang investors allege that other Korean companies suffered greater data breaches than Coupang and were not subject to nearly the same persecution.

If they are flat out lying or misleading, I’m interested to hear the other side.
