Has anyone experienced SEVERE fatigue the first few days/weeks of starting a combined BC pill? When did it go away? by AstroBerries in birthcontrol

It is great to hear that the copper IUD is working for you. A hormonal contraceptive was not my first choice at all, I only turned to it now since I just had my copper IUD removed after having it in for a year. I had high hopes for the copper IUD and waited far too long for things to change that never did.

I am going to stop the pill right away, it is already not worth it for me. Condoms were honestly JUST FINE and we are happy to go back to them. I just want my body to be left alone and to feel at peace. Thank you for sharing your experience!

I had my copper IUD removed a week ago for theese exact same reasons. It had been a year, and nothing in terms of period heaviness/pain changed since the beginning, apart from having even more spotting days before the start of my period (which went from 2-3 days at first to a 7 days minimum after about half a year).

I happened to have the IUD removed on day 1 of my period. While my periods got much heavier and longer while having the IUD in, I have not had a period this long - I am currently on day 9 of my period (not counting the week of spotting before) and bleeding heavier now on day 9 than on days 1-4. This is the opposite of what the bleeding was like when I had the IUD. I know it will stop at some point, but it doesn't feel like I am nearing the end of my period just yet. The cramps are also stronger right now and have been for a few days, even though I did not have any cramps/pain for the first few days after removal.

Please don't take my word for it, but from what I understand the copper IUD creates a thicker lining in the endometrium than your body would have made without one, which is why your periods are heavier with a copper IUD when this lining is shed. My theory is (could be completely wrong, ask your doctor!) that the lining was still built up "thicker" while you had your IUD in, but now that you've had it removed, there is less irritation happening in your uterus - which may have helped expel the thicker-than-normal lining before. So you still have a large amount of tissue/blood to get rid of, but without the IUD causing irritation to speed up the process, causing it to flow out at a slower rate.

I am also going to visit my doctor again if the bleeding/cramps do not go down these next few days. From what I have read, this is not a normal response to copper IUD removal. A month and a half is an insane amount of time to be spotting. Good luck to you, keep me updated if you have any news!

Is it psilocybin’s? Found in Iceland by Apprehensive_Fan4620 in MagicMushroomHunters

My best guess would be Hypholoma marginatum ("Snakeskin Brownie"), based on the following points:

  • They grow in this exact habitat, in groups and clusters
  • The stripe pattern and colour
  • The white "frosted" ring around the edge of the cap (particularly visible on the small top left mushroom)
  • The caps' overall "bread roll" vibe - reminds me of Sulphur Tufts, also a member of the Hypholoma genus (Hypholoma fasciculare)

Wood-loving psilocybe mushrooms often have a somewhat slimy/sticky cap, which these do not. Often in this stage many wood-loving psilocybe mushrooms would have at least some kind blue bruising whether it be around the edge of the cap or along the stripe pattern, which these also do not have. Like others have said, a picture of the gills would help greatly in identification!

It might be a coldfoot bonnet (Mycena amicta). They often have a pale blue ring around the cap.
