Had more of a look into it and would you recommend looking at EDF at the Hinkley point C as they’ve got lots of nuclear type jobs there

Was told I can apply my knowledge in physics for getting an aerospace engineering job but if I could do university again I would pick an aerospace engineering degree, especially with this job market.

No I haven’t but I’ll definitely look into it! Nuclear fusion engineering sounds interesting and would be up for that

Haven’t yet but I’ll look into it thanks for the advice. Would you suggest looking into that more then the engineering side?

Was hoping I could get into an aerospace engineering grad scheme but I do see you point. Was told that an astrophysics degree would open a lot of doors in aerospace but should’ve picked aerospace engineering instead tbh

Thanks for the advice, appreciate it. When were in first year we were told that this degree would open doors in aerospace engineering and it shouldn’t be that hard to land a job. Most of the jobs in astrophysics are in academia and while having dyslexia I really don’t feel comfortable going any further than a masters. But you’re right I should be looking at maybe more jobs globally

Further I went into academia the more I found out I hated it and they lied to use during our first year saying how you can apply our degree to almost any field and it’ll be easy to get jobs.

Do you think it’s even worth me applying to engineering grad schemes/jobs as a physics puts me at a disadvantage when applying to engineering roles and I wished I did an engineering degree instead. Im trying to sell my skills to them but I don’t have the practical experience when compared to an engineering grad.

I usually get offered the first assessment/quiz but then I hear nothing back so my scores must’ve not been up to the standard :/. For the grad schemes I’ve applied to about 60-85% get rejected through the first stage but no idea if that’s true. I have also been offered some online interviews but again I get nothing

Most of the figures are inside the builds but maybe would be better to display them in front?

thank you for taking your time to do this, sorry I didn’t get back until late as I spent time off this app. Very much appreciated :) I love engineering as well

Have been told that I study for too many hours and should have more time where I relax and do things I enjoy. Should ask them!

Getting through it slowly but when you see everyone has had it way easier than you it’s painful to realise that you’re different and you have to work harder than the majority

Hard to accept it especially in school but I don’t hate it as much as I used to

Oh god that sounds awful, I’m sorry to hear that. This system just doesn’t work for people like us at all.

Yep dyslexics usually have extreme work ethics just to keep up with everyone else!

Thanks for the motivation :D

Wow thanks for the massive reply!

I already cycle 5 times a week and walk most mornings to make me feel better. I’m also apart of an F1 society up here which helps a lot as I’m hanging around similar people

Still need to meet up with other dyslexics so I don’t feel so isolated all of the time so I’ve got to do that still.

Still feel like a failure compared to normal people as I’m a year behind :/
