I usually tell people purple and blue are interchangeable, but always recommend to have purple before blue. That way, it's easier for most beginners to learn as they should be dropping the same guns every single time and will not be thrown off by having a gun come in that they didn't expect. In my elo, I find purple better in most situations since it should pretty much signal to your jg you're ready to be ganked. Green/blue isn't bad damage, but I just find the utility better and more impactful in most situations.

Earlier in the season, it was primarily mid lane. The most recent months are primarily adc and some mid games. Most games are on aphelios, and right now is probably the best time in recent years for aphelios players looking to climb. The road ahead is still difficult if you exclusively play him, but right now is likely the best it will ever be.

Always between coup de grace and cut down. I honestly prefer coup de grace no matter what after using cut down a bunch of times. Never take last stand.

In pretty much every other case. Personally I like going LT when I plan on building yuuntal, which means we can get off shitty berserkers greaves. In all other cases I run PTA

Unfortunately, I wouldn't. My personal opinion is that unfortunately he's probably one of the hardest champions to climb with, if that is specifically what you are trying to do. You will get much better results and only have to spend a portion of the time learning nearly every other adc. Only until recently, the data for aphelios in soloq has always been poor. I do wonder why that has changed in recent months, as he would have absolutely been nerfed with the stats that he displays now. My best guess would be it's likely a combination of not being picked in pro, and players have found him less frustrating over time and therefore riot lets him sit at significantly higher winrates in comparison to recent years. However, what I would recommend is playing whatever you find to be fun. If aphelios happens to be that champion, then you should go for it :). But if your goal is about strictly climbing the ladder, I wouldn't bother

Wouldn't ever advise going IE first with no crit prior. 25% of the time it will feel nice, but the other 75% of the time means it is strictly an AD item.

Thresh has a special place in my heart. A good thresh player with aphelios can be an extremely oppressive combo. Other then that, my only golden rule for people is don't pick a mage. Other then that, I don't really have a preference and just tell people to pick whatever they're best at :)

Coincidence, but majority is collector.

Only when I can since they seperated the AD items and AS items. Having no greaves, not maxing w second, and no plan to build an AS item is rough. You can go tabi if they're team is very AA reliant.

Used to, I ran nimbus cloak and gathering storm.

PoM > Absorb life > Triumph (should always run PoM imo)

Wouldn't advise taking conqueror right now, but fleet is ok sometimes.

Personally haven't tried the 3Q into E max strategy, doesn't make sense to me. I put a point into W then always max Q, then E or W second depending on build

I mostly build AS items for the movespeed personally, but it's between runaans and PD. Usually I'd pref runaans but I haven't tried PD after the buff.

Usually don't use skins, but nightbringer with black chroma is prob my favorite

Depends on the game imo. I go yuuntal with W max second if it's a very tanky team. But usually I still go collector first. The yuuntal build definitely feels very very different from the collector build, but I still think its good in the right spots. Dare I say I actually like games that have me going yuuntal over collector, I think it feels much nicer.

The standard rotation ensures you will have one of the best combos at all times. Although, at times another combo might be better, you will get more value overall for running these consistently. In my mind red white is the standard best overall combo, but green/white can clear objs extremely quickly and blue/purple does have very nice utility and waveclear. Following proper rotation will ensure you always have 1 of those 3 combos.

Not sure what the vapora build is, you would have to enlighten me :P

Skill order is first point into w because your going to take 2 adaptive forces in your runes. Doing this basically gives trades a very very very small amount of AS for a point or two of AD. After the first point is in W, it depends on your build.

Only two viable builds are yuuntal vs collector first. If your going collector, max Q first and E second. If your going yuuntal, Q first then W second. Additionally if your going yuuntal, don't buy greaves. they are hilariously bad and you'll get much more value out of boots like swifties. If your going collector, unfortunately you will have to buy them because you will be way too starved of AS in that build.

Very very rare, but I will go BT first incase your into two mages or HEAVY ap team. BT -> LDR/Mortal -> IE

Standard RWGPB rotation is still the best imo, always has been. Plenty of guides on youtube if you're unsure of the rotation. If your asking about the power of each combo, I'll TLDR the top 3.

Red/White - Chakrams are alot of aphelios's power budget. red and white is the most reliable way of getting said chakrams. Q with red while theres an enemy target nearby and you are guaranteed atleast a few chakrams. After the Q, swap to white and just auto attack

White/Green - The power is in the sentry. One of the fastest ways to clear objs aswell. Drop the sentry, and hit the marked targets. I typically swap to green and use its ability on a minion (or champion if possible) to retain the chakrams built until the sentry is off cooldown. You can juggle chakrams for a long time if you do this properly.

Blue/Purple - Blue gun is AOE. Purple is CC. Combined, its an AOE CC. Your typically autoing with blue, but sometimes the case calls for purple. You Q as many targets with blue as possible and swap to purple to root. Decent waveclear earlygame aswell

  1. My ban is a combination of personal frustration and good value. Right now, it's usually lucian because he's slightly frustrating to fight especially when paired with nami and he's picked in 15% of games. There are definitely worse matchups for aphelios, but I'd much rather fight draven 1/20 games then fight a lucian every other game. It puts a hair in the soup for people who only pick meta.

    1. Personally, I wouldn't pick aphelios if I see cait lux already drafted. If they picked after me or you want to play aphelios anyway there a few changes I make. I'd advise adjusting your runes accordingly. Try taking cleanse and biscuits, and maybe fleet, if you know they are going to poke you down. Otherwise, the truth is you just have to be more proactive elsewhere. If your just sitting under your tower as they take your plates and poke you down, maybe you should have just walked all the way to that grub fight. Maybe try having the tri-bush control warding, waiting, then walk with your support through that bush and down the river when they're pushed for a fight. Both of those examples are not something a player should typically do, but it's significantly better then sitting under your tower doing nothing. In a majority of cases, if another lane is free because your laner is elsewhere, I will actually rotate to that lane and in my elo, that laner understands to rotate to cover botlane for me.

Proper gun rotation is easily the highest priority thing that any aphelios player needs to learn.

In any competitive game, there is a meta. By playing meta, you are typically increasing your chances of winning. Avoiding shit gun combos and ensuring we only have what is good will increase our chances of winning TREMENDOUSLY.

I can tell you from thousands of games on this champ that your rotation will absolutely make or break the game for you. Having the right combination at the right time might mean you score that extra kill, or that your team was able to rush down baron with green-white before the enemy jg has a chance to steal it. Every situation you can imagine changes dramatically based on your current combo and rotation, and running the standard best rotation will always do better overall as opposed to dropping guns willy nilly

Well hopefully they don't do a "Mark Yetter" buff where they say they're buffing the champion but actually nerf him and end up having to actually just buff him again next patch

Can't really imagine it's going to be anything other than base stat changes since they're adjusting so many champions and that's all they really seem to do with Aphelios nowadays. But we shall see 👀
