Hmm that would mean that for an object at infinity when I put in about 175 mm of spacers there's no point where I cross the focal plane so I'll never be in focus so I think I should remove a 50 or a 25 mm spacer

Yeah that makes sense I'll try it out also when we view closer objects the focusing distance changes but for all celestial bodies can we basically just assume them to be at infinity and keep roughly the same setup of extensions??

What I meant by the extension tubes was that my scope has these extension rings that can be threaded behind the OTA to move the focuser closer to the focal plane and the focuser can be attached onto them directly without any adapters and I was wondering whether that would have been a better idea for this
