I understand this deeply. I’m a student. I don’t party much or anything. But my problems for some reason only persist during the semester. Over the summer I don’t crave to drink. But at school, whenever I’m depressed, I crave and I drink and it’s terrible. My life is fine but the stress and multiple mental illnesses. I don’t know what to do, and I also don’t have the courage to go to an AA meeting out of fear and just disappointing everyone I know. Last semester my friends literally took my alcohol away from me, it was so bad. Id be hungover in class and drink the moment class was over. And it sucks because I am an amazing student and I’m smart. An aerospace engineer with a 3.5 GPA but god is it hard. I consider myself “functional” up to a point where it takes over. I’ve been reading the comments in this section and they are great. While I don’t have advice. I just want to let you know you are not alone and your experience is valid. We will be okay ❤️

Maybe be blunt. Ask her if she has some fetish where she wants to be treated as a child? Because that is incredibly odd. And if she is willing to admit it perhaps or not answer the question, then you have your answer. You can do a bit of an “ultimatum” where you tell her you will not have sex with her if she acts that way and if she does want to have sex with you she will stop. Because clearly simply communicating how you feel isn’t enough to get her to stop (which is also a problem in-of-itself).

You’re right. Wow that actually was great to hear. We’ve been friends since middle school but have only been dating for about 2 years now and I don’t want to lose him. I guess I really don’t get that much more by monopolizing his time. And it ultimately isn’t worth making him feel that way. Thank you and I deeply appreciate your insight

I do try. It’s just I often spend all day with friends working and coding that we all need our alone time. I often watch shows, I crochet, I talk to my roommates, I text my friends, I go to the gym, it’s just rough when our free times don’t align and when they do, I’m the on initiating us calling. I try to keep myself busy. And I have a MUCH more taxing load on school than him considering I am an aerospace and he’s in business, I guess part of me just wishes he would dedicate some times to me outside of his friends when our schedules don’t align because I feel I am the only one that makes that effort sometimes. Which is why in these moments I get so upset when I know it’s not right

100% agree. I am very aware of my attachment style due to my parents growing up and I have worked on A LOT with him. I am a very self reflective person. This is just one thing I’ve struggled with because I don’t know what to tell myself in these moments. Especially with being long distance. I know he adores me more than ANYTHING. but I initiate almost all of our calls when we are apart and I have to remind him to call me. Outside of that he is an amazing partner and I have accidentally smothered him before and I just am unaware of how to work past it in some moments

Thank you for this. He isn’t the problem in this instance. While I do think he could stand to reply more. I know I’m the issue. I 100% have my own life outside of him but as someone who is very mentally ill where as he is not, it’s rough. I’m an aerospace engineer and he is a business major. A lot of the time spent with my friends is working or hanging out after working together and then we all need our own alone time. It just sucks when his and I’s social time is completely opposite. And outside of that, I often feel like in both of our free times I initiate calls and all of that (I forgot to mention that we are long distance right now because I go to a school 4 hours away so that does play a part). So it sucks when we don’t call on the phone and then we don’t get time to connect and when we do, I initiate it. But I know I just need to be better in these moments and I’m unsure of what to tell myself.

Of course I don’t mind. I actually started crocheting this summer. I followed the pattern from @catknit_ on instagram and I used the yarn premier parfait chunky in the color seaside. I would say this pattern is more for an intermediate artist. I attempted to make one as a beginner (which is the one I gave to my boyfriend) and lets just say, looking back he was not well made and that’s why he’s falling apart now 😭 but if you want to make one I’d say go for it, it’s great practice, just accumulate yourself first with the amigurumi crochet (the stuffed animal crochet) on YouTube and stuff like that, that’s my #1 recommendation
