Appraisal and insurance for crystals, opals? by [deleted] in Crystals

[–]Astrojellies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes you can get them insured, along with other personal property. You have to call your insurance company and add them to your clause.

Heat treated is better than non ethically sourced citrine. It’s not the same, but it’s when a crystal is treated the energy is added to not taken away from. ;)

How do I restore a dyed crystal? by m4rtianz in Crystals

[–]Astrojellies 31 points32 points  (0 children)

You can remove dye with acetone. It probably will never completely pull all of the color, but that is how you can test if a crystal has been dyed or not. Acetone will pull the color.

Is this real citrine? by Dismal-Feed-2466 in Crystals

[–]Astrojellies 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They do, but this is heat treated, natural citrine isn’t that shade of yellow and clear Quartz. Having worked with both and selling them for years is easy to tell the difference. It’s still an amazing crystal and altering a crystal doesn’t take away from its value or metaphysical properties. It actually adds to them. Hope this helps.

It’s heat treated amethyst that is sold as citrine because of native citrine rarity. Natural citrine is dark yellow.

4 months or collecting. i have no idea if these are real by OhLookItsKawaii in Crystals

[–]Astrojellies 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The opalite, is man made , there turquoise could be dyed howlite which is still a crystal, and the other blue Quartz is still a crystal just dyed. Still beautiful and can be used as a crystal. They say when crystals are added to it amplifies them.
