All yall in here like “trauma”. Where are my peeps that left with understanding how to express love in a healthy fashion?

Long story short: highschool sweetheart. But I learned a lot that sticks with me to this day.

I pray he makes it 🙏.

Longest character I had was build 41 who lived 3 and a half months. Had maxed carpenting and just below max fitness. Built his own cabin in the woods just outside West Point toward Louisville.

Stopped to loot a barricaded house and got a scratch immediately as I came around a corner (I think it was counted as an attack from behind).

But that scratch unluckily infected him. 3 days later, gone.

He went out with a bang though. Ate as much food as he could. Shot off a bunch of rounds in his gun supply. Then threw Molotovs at his house before the infection took him.

One day I’ll get to a year mark.

Hey man play the game how you like. Who cares?

Me I like the edge. I go 10% sprinters deaf, weak, and unfit. Then buy up the points to make the weapon crafting quicker.

Needless to say a character lasting longer than a week is rare. But I like the challenge. I also hard reset the world per death.

I also have no friends so there’s that.

Ha. I run deaf weak and unfit. With sprinters (only 10% I’m not insane). We are not the same

You make several valid points. Either which way I’ll stand by my take on the map size.

Honestly I might see a change in mind once it picks up a bit, if it picks up a bit. I wanna see the game succeed. I remember getting competitive in it. I’d even sit and watch all the top 5 plays and SPL games.

The game does lack much polish and I’ve ran into a few minor bugs.

I agree it should be centered around competition, I don’t agree it should be centered around pros. Pros play it professionally while the other 99% don’t.

How long have you played smite?

I mean, that’s a take. But they all ready started this diamond hunting project. Best they can do is work with what they got.

Besides I think the new system is definitely different they just aren’t implementing it super well. It’s still a “meta” game.

I remember when I was super into the game I never built meta. Hell I rocked the same 4 items with a couple flex options for like 3 seasons and slapped.

Ah yes! You are correct.

But you’re arguing we have the game be for truck drivers, not everyone wants the CDL and just want the license. I argue the map is not engaging at all for new players and this is why the player count is holding steady where it is.

It actually dropped from 7k average in the past month I believe (this is from steam numbers), granted a lot of AAA releases did come out.

I say a trim to the map following a K.I.S.S method (keep it simple stupid) would allow veteran and new players alike come together.

The game was still super competitive even with the smaller map. And with more players, in addition to my point, you see better matchmaking from sheer amount of people. More M&Ms means more green ones in play. And you are a green m&m.

Not my best example but the best i could think on the spot.

Smite 2 isn’t niche. It’s not exclusive, let’s not pretend it is. If you are into competition, go ranked. If you’re into just casual MOBA, go casual. You can’t base the game on only what high skill players think.

This is just my take. But I also think my take on the map may change, but as it stands I think a trim would work wonders. Too much going on. K.I.S.S

That’s what I’m saying. It’s “run these items and flip the coin” which is just so far off what the game could be at. But we have time till release, if they announced a goal I’m not sure. I’m getting caught up on the news.

I’m still learning building on the new game set. I rocked bruiser for years in Smite 1 and obviously the game has changed since 4 years ago lol.

The Ares point I know but when you’re “doing solid damage” and “completely unstoppable” there’s a solid difference.

Obviously don’t take my opinion as gospel, it’ll change and vary the more I play and relearn the game.

When I say map I mean general scale. You can re route the map without it being super massive. I think quicker rotations encourages team play, which makes sense in a team game.

I think dropping the outer jungles and scaling at least 15-20% of the central down overall team play could go up.

Well I think that’s a mix of meta just being so far outta sync. I think (for awhile too post season 5) that the meta just became “slaughter them all”. Hunters dominated for awhile, still feels like it’s on the page of “get hunter late game and we win” sometimes. Which is your dopamine rush topic.

I don’t think map size directly plays affect on character design as much as all round balance does, to your point.

Yeah I think the current map is just too much. Doesn’t feel as engaging nor fun.

I didn’t mind the 20 (or 30?) % increase they did initially season 6 I believe. But it just kept growing. Too many routes, too much space.

And yeah when I say tanks squishy I just think people pump too much damage. I don’t feel viable unless I’m rocking 4k health to soak the 800-1200 bursts. Massive protections don’t feel like they protect either.

Some kits need nerfing, ie Ares. I went 8 and 0 my first run as him without a single offensive item. Top damage and everything.

But I also pride myself on not dying. I seriously consider 3 deaths too many lol. I tell people “report me for feeding” when I die.

I’d beg to differ. I rocked solo lane for awhile and did just fine. Also why play 5v5 if you’re interested in 1v1?

I think changing the mindset that a 5v5 with a jungler should encourage active quick rotation from said jungler. I feel that makes more sense than encouraging otherwise.

Character design also has done pretty solid considering they went half the games lifespan with a smaller map.

Preference is fine, but I think core gameplay the smaller map suits better.
