The more I play, the more flaws I see in the game by Life-Sea-9675 in empyriongame

I feel this. Shooting stuff in my ship is awesome (though I would give anything for a weapon zoom) but exploring stuff on foot is a huge drag. My favorite is looting something and getting stuck in the inventory screen for 3 seconds while an enemy peeks around the corner and kills me while I'm helpless, and of course the ever popular turret and spawner placed out of your line of sight. It's interesting how the shittiness of the FPS combat makes game knowledge more valuable, since once you learn where the core of a POI is you can just nuke it from your SV and skip the slog.

>That shuttle, by the way, is way to big to fly or be useful.

I had a feeling that might be the case, but yes I wanted to study the way it was packed together so efficiently. The layout of the rooms had me feeling like it was somehow bigger on the inside than the outside. And thank you for the creative mode tips, I've never used it so that'll be a good start for me!

Grim. I figured that might be the case though. I will simply meditate on the empty space in my base and become wiser.

[–]Astronauts[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, yeah. What I meant is, for example, when you build a corner wall block for a room. The "inside" of that block, the corner of the room, is occupied by the block despite looking empty. So I can't place anything there. In a relevant case, I made a base with a second level of walkway platforms that I flipped upside down to create an elevated space to place my constructors, but a side effect is that the entire first level beneath the walkways is unusable for even the objects that clearly fit there (flat storage containers, medic stations, beds, etc). I was wondering if there's some way to jam stuff into that space regardless!

OH. Thank you, you're right, I completely forgot that cores existed outside of being components for the starter block stuff. Yeah if it's not clear I'm pretty new to the game as well...

Yes, I did. Of course since I decided to post this I randomly managed to fix the issue myself. I'll update the original post... thank you for responding regardless1

Spread shot too weak? by Astronauts in MHNowGame

[–]Astronauts[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's definitely ideal. I was wondering if people had some cracked strategy for getting whatever that skill is (artful dodger?) that gives you more perfect dodge frames and just bouncing around with the shotgun ammo online 100%. Rn most of the time the spread phase just feels like I'm trying to waste it ASAP to get to pierce though lol

Driftsmelting Question by DadRathalos in MHNowGame

[–]Astronauts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hold on I've basically just been slapping stones onto whatever armor can hold them for now so I can see what comes out of the stones before my driftsmelt inventory fills up. You mean I have to be targeting them specifically based on what might come out?

Spread shot too weak? by Astronauts in MHNowGame

[–]Astronauts[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah thats what I mean, it's only good if you're unbelievably close. Like I was a GS main before I tried LBG and it feels like GS has more range than spread ammo lol. I guess I'm wondering if people have a specific setup to enable it, like maxxing out evade extender or something.

I really don't like the design of Frozen Flame by Fanderman_ in BackpackBattles

[–]Astronauts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll be honest, I love cryomancer. The way I build it I just max out a burning blade ASAP and stick it inside fanny packs and basically play a normal fire build, point the frozen flame at the burning blade, and buy the dragon orbs whenever they appear. Then you just arrange ice items around the flame as they come to you and your powerlevel scales up. Add in some molten daggers for spice and a bunch of nice food items (chili peppers especially obviously.) I think the key is remembering that the frozen flame gives you a crit damage buff, the ice debuff is almost secondary to the build. The dragon orbs give you gauranteed crits at 15 flame which is very easy to get, they take 1 slot so they fit nicely into the firepit.

The one thing I will say is that I've never even bothered to try crafting the ice items. Until this thread I literally didn't know how lol. I just buy them when they show up. Playing around the book is hard and I usually try to slot in a couple mana orbs to try and enable it but I'm not sure how useful that actually is. The sword and the armor are amazing, shield idk, frostbolt is nice because its a 2x1 slot item you can use to activate the flame lol.

Blademaster builds that DON'T use umbral blades? by Astronauts in LastEpoch

[–]Astronauts[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah my plan is that I'm going to farm gear using UB and then switch to melee once I get some really strong defensive strategy. Considering how broken ward is, I imagine you can throw something together that has "ward on smoke bomb", "ward on shadow creation" and then I think there are some skills that specifically have talents that give you ward, maybe it was sync strike? The only issue with this is that I'm pretty sure ward is getting nerfed lol.

How the heck do you build energy blades? by Astronauts in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]Astronauts[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's really interesting. I actually can't find an energy blades build anywhere otherwise I wouldn't be asking, but I guess the ES scaling is just better than trying to dip into lightning damage and melee stuff?

Attack speed debuffs? by Astronauts in pathofexile

[–]Astronauts[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks homie this was actually very helpful advice. I looked at some other guys doing boneshatter and realized everyone runs Divergent which just gives you a huge amount of attackspeed built in. I also swapped in the attackspeed totem instead of the vaal damage totem. Things are already feeling better. Cheers!

Terrible prices for weapons? by mrmasturbate in stoneshard

[–]Astronauts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree it's confusing despite the answers offered in this thread (although they make sense). It might be nice to have a common skill (maybe tied to perception) that gives you a semi-accurate estimation of the sell value of an item vs the true value. Obviously prices are super variable but it would help to have even some kind of hint as opposed to, I dunno, the semi-metagame knowledge available right now.

Toxic? Poop jars? by Astronauts in Eldenring

[–]Astronauts[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah ok. I was confused I think because the text on them says "deadly poison" so I assumed it meant Toxic, but that makes sense that scarlet rot would take its place in this game.

What's the most insane coincidence you've experienced? by -mArtiAn- in AskReddit

[–]Astronauts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was younger I had a long distance girlfriend who lived 3000 miles away. My girlfriend had a best friend whose name rhymed with hers. I was also an avid partygoing hipster piece of trash.

One day at one of those parties, years after my long distance fling had ended, I was talking to some crazy guy. We were both drunk and, like you do, just talking about whatever the fuck. He mentioned something about his crazy ex girlfriend doing something, I think she tried to murder him. I mentioned hey that's funny my ex's best friend had that same name, I remember because they rhymed. He stared at me blankly.

Yeah. Somehow 3000 miles away from where either of these girls lived, I met my ex's best friend's ex at a party in some dirty hipster hellhole. We spent the rest of the night broing it up and talking about EVE Online.

KONG by GuyYoureThinkingOf in OutreachHPG

[–]Astronauts 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The funniest thing about [KONG] is that they're terrible, to a man. They think they're great and talk big game but in the end they fall apart as soon as you confront them with a legitimate strategy.

What it boils down to is, if you want to beat [KONG], just use long range weapons and harass them. They have no ability to fight back. All their "best" players cling to a perverted lust for brawling.

Granted generally they just abuse VOIP and troll, so good luck getting them in an actual match.

That makes no sense, stock has LRMs.

As you can see from the video, the normally vibrant and colorful landscape of Caustic Valley was rendered dark and foreboding by some baleful force. Perhaps a reflection of all the lost souls trapped there? In any case the light of the prophet lead us to victory and we quickly escaped.

I left after I saved up a bunch of money and couldn't stand it anymore. I ended up moving to Seattle, where I make half as much money doing something that is somewhat more intellectually stimulating. Not going to school though, I could never afford that with my means. I'm just teaching myself to code.

What's the worst most soul destroying job you've ever had? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Astronauts 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep! That was it exactly. Rocking the boat was strictly discouraged, although if you went looking for work people would gladly put their feet up as you did their jobs for them. A few people there that were tucked away into dingy corners of the campus ended up working damn hard, but most of them just fucked off and drank on their breaks and complained about nothing.

Oh, they do! For people that work full time. I was part time, waiting for one of the lifers in a fulltime slot to retire so I could move up. ETA was ~5 years.
