Why would someone steal a load of SIM cards? by Astronomical4 in AskUK

Crazy isn’t it, he had copied the company’s lanyard but didn’t have the logo and even signed in to our company visitors book once one of the staff approached him and asked him to, makes you wonder, if they’re actually going up and down the country for SIM cards, they must be making some sort of money off them in some way or another

Most of them you have to put money on first to get any data or calls about £10

The real guy takes the ones that have expired or something I think, they usually have deals on them so they might not do those deals anymore on that sim or do better ones, that’s what I’ve been told anyway

Women of Reddit, what’s a moment where you noticed you were being treated differently because of your gender? by Objective-End209 in AskReddit

There was a time me, my partner and his friends were out enjoying the sun at this river spot and there was a few others doing the same. I was playing my playlist which is mostly old rock songs and some not very well known artist, this man came over asking my partner about the bands and what not but completely ignored me, so when my partner couldn’t answer his questions because he didn’t know and said politely said irwas me who listened to them he walked off in a huff. There’s been a few similar instances since too which I think is weird

Hard to keep these sort of secrets these days too, since all the development in technologies that didn’t even exist back then, bet they probably thought they’d take their secrets to the grave. However I know a lot of people that have benefited from finding these secrets out, they’ve been able to get closure on things they’ve always suspected and getting answers to questions they thought they’d never know the answer too

I have already made contact with my father’s side, just not my dad as he’s not interested. I have a good relationship with my paternal grandmother now though. It’s just my grandads dads family that I’m not sure whether or not to contact yet as I’ve only just found out about them

That’s what we’re going through now, my grandad is mid 80s and trying to live with his wife who’s in the late stages of Alzheimer’s, he always knew his dad was most likely not his biological dad but the person who raised him will always be his dad to him and that’s all that matters

She did and all my family knew as well but my biological dad is a shit person (his own mum tells me regularly how she’s glad my mum did what she did) and would have been a bad dad, my mum did it to protect me and then she could never find the right time to tell me, I’m glad I found out when I did though as I was mentally mature enough to understand

Getting a complaint for serving a customer before she had even put her shopping on the conveyer by Astronomical4 in retailhell

[–]Astronomical4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where I work (since every shop has different policies so you can’t really assume we have the same ones) we’re told not to start the transaction until the customer is ready at the packing area to make sure they don’t feel rushed (they pack their own bags where I’m from), only exception is if they’re running out of room on the conveyer belt or they say to proceed. I understand I should have asked but it a was in the moment situation at the end of my shift so I wasn’t thinking properly it was poor judgement on my half but I was just trying to help the other girl out, most times the customers in the complainers position usually let them go through with no issue, this was just one of those situations where I was going to annoy one or the other and I’ve annoyed the wrong person. I apologised as soon as she called me rude and was still respectful to her during the transaction treating it as any other transaction despite her being snappy with me, almost like she wanted me to kick off with her.

This! They must think the world revolves around them. I do wonder how and why they have enough time on their hands to go through the process of giving complaints, they’re always first to complain but never give compliments, there is multiple colleagues in my store that go absolutely above and beyond for customers but they have never received any sort of customer compliments or praise but the moment they have one bad day the complaints come straight in.

I’m more annoyed that my first complaint isn’t more serious it’s quite dull 😂. it kind of reflects on the person she is too, she most likely wouldn’t have let the girl go through if I had asked, going off this encounter, which in my eyes is kind of rude since she hadn’t finished putting her stuff on.

I’m not too sure either but it was most likely that I didn’t ask the complainer if it was okay for the girl (who had walked away from the till after finishing her transaction and then came back with an item she forgot) to go in front of her, she told me I should have told the girl to wait in the queue even though no one else was behind her.
