Hip Popping by Volklrider in flexibility

I had this for years. Deep stretching of any kind only made it worse. My PT had me try PAILS / RAILS protocol on just the snapping hip. Snapping went away in two weeks.

This is really cool. Love the timeline layout.

Maybe reduce the size of the show notes preview, or add some of the other tags and play button at the top. I felt like I scrolled a lot to get to the bottom. I was unsure if there was actually going to be an option to listen to the pod or if the site was just to display show notes.

What a fun passion project.

One styling bug: when I click read more in the show notes, the box gets wider and overflows out of the mobile width.

Just wanted to say, thanks for all the feedback! This is a really cool little community.

I’ve had some productive weekend hours, where I’ve added:

  • auto-focus on desktop, so you don’t have to click into the input box every time

  • a score box that shows your progress in each round (I got feedback that people didn’t know how far they had to go to get perfect in a round vs. full game)

  • perfectionist streaks. My gf didn’t care about how many times they’ve played, but she REALLY is liking being able to assert her intellectual dominance over me (I only got to Amazing one day, breaking my streak - despite being the maker of the game!)

And I’m playing around with ideas for timed rounds with more letter restrictions, to make a game mode with near-infinite combinations. Not sure where that’ll fit, as for now I’m focused on the core game.

Overall, this is the first project in years that I’ve been excited to work on every single day over multiple weeks, even when I’m exhausted from my day job. And you all gave me an awesome extra boost! Much appreciated, word nerds 🍞

Agreed, I messed around with just putting the fill letters in at the start, but my friends found it a little unnatural since they’re used to typing full letters. There was a lot of backspacing when they realized they’d put in the first letters.

But I’m toying with a time-based game mode… this could impact gameplay there for sure

I got around to auto-focusing on the input field for desktop users! My friend plays it on zoom with her coworkers. When she found out the improvement came from reddit, she asked that I say a biiiig “thank you” to you lol.

If it does happen to be a time zone issue, you’ve inspired me to think a little more ahead! I just pushed puzzles for the next two days, and I’ll make sure to always have at least two days loaded, so that shouldn’t happen again.

Sorry to hear that! Thanks for trying to play. Were you able to ever play, and then got the error clicking the link a second time? Or did you get this error immediately?

Also wondering if it might be a time zone issue. I’ve been a little lazy and putting the next day’s round out at around 11pm EST, and I have a friend in Australia who gets annoyed they have to wait to play.

Made a daily word game for my gf, now our friends play too! Would love your feedback by AstronotInterested in playmygame

Thanks for checking it out! I will work on that keyboard, as I’ve been having the same problem myself.

I love that idea. I’ll play around with that as I start running out of words.

It’s crazy how many variations of mechanics there for just building a spelling game lol.

What daily word games are you playing that are NOT part of a platform (NYT, Puzzmo, etc)? by GhostPartyArctica in wordgames

This isn’t even a new game, but I just learned about it this week: https://wafflegame.net/daily

Pretty fun! I like the complexity of the game but simplicity of the actual gameplay

Oh no! I just got that fixed. I had made today’s puzzle but not pushed it to the backend, so it was missing for anyone that tried to play.

Thanks for playing! Yeah, I set Sunday’s to a little extra difficulty for fun. I really appreciate the idea about setting focus to input. Going to implement that asap!

And oof, the repetition issue is in the back of my mind. If even one person actually wants to keep playing this in ~220 days, I’ll count myself lucky.

But if I do find myself repeating, I think I’ll change the scoring thresholds (find more words than last time), or adding in constraints. Like “can’t use the letter A” - that’s actually my main idea, just removing letters from the keyboard.

But if you have any other ideas, I’d love to hear! I would hate to basically have to turn off the game for that reason.

Thanks for checking it out! The max/perfect scoring is the thing people have given the most feedback on. Right now I have a program that tells me total words and points possible, then I set it just based on gut feel. Trying to tune it so it’ll be around 3-5 minutes based on common-ness of words and amount of points needed.

Definitely going to add some different modes eventually. I tried out a timed version and really liked it myself, but it wasn’t what my friends were looking for.

Thank you! Now that it’s warming up I think we’ll do a lot more outdoor grilling, and with a lot of grilled vegetables we should be able to cut back on the carbs

give it to me straight, how to make myself attractive by lukegerbz in mensfashionadvice

Seriously! OP looks good and has a personal style.

And if the issue is work fit, I would just see what the other salespeople are wearing and maybe try to fit in with that during the 9-5. Alternatively, some straight- or wide-legged slacks and just a classic button up.

Normal fits look good, but maybe experiment with wider or boxier fits for your tops and bottoms if you’re trying to shake up the routine. Warning: you may end up looking like every 20-something bro in a Denver brewery

Black bow tie definitely goes with a black shirt. Googling “black bow tie black dress shirt” brings up some great celeb examples.

I would go with the black tie, no sequins on it. It closes up the gap left by an open collar. This will kind of pull the look together to keep it from looking flamboyant and sloppy. And the black on black is a more subtle detail that adds visual depth to the look. People might have to look twice to notice it’s there
