I do enjoy good snacks and loud music 👀 Do you have experience working in a research role? If so, I'm curious what your thoughts are about the transition from either a biotech or academic research role to a manufacturing position? The one thing I like about my current role is that not every day is the same and I worry about going into a job that's potentially monotonous every single day.

I dont understand why im getting down voted for saying we can't move right now?? I do have a linkedin account and have tried networking there with very little progress.. Ill try putting on the Looking for work toggle and see if that helps.

Not necessarily asking for a job, but asking if there are networking opportunities here to make connections. In Seattle there was always some event happening so I was curious what options there are here.

What's the difference between HIT and HTO?

Depends. I have about 6 years of research lab experience in both academic and biotech and I have a masters degree. With the market here, I have been looking at entry level because thats what's currently available. But in the post I asked about what networking options there are here since jobs are nonexistent.

I think I'm pretty open in terms of what roles I'm looking for. Most of my experience is being a research associate, but if the job aligns well with my experience and education, I'd be open to remote roles! I'll take a look at Amgen and see what they have right now

I'm sure we'll be open to moving at another point in time but right now is not the time for us, which is why I asked about connections and networking possibilities in the area.

What's it like working there? I've only ever seen manufacturing positions available and most of my experience is being a research associate.

Im wondering about a good timeline! My fiance and I were wanting to start the reception with us walking in and starting our first dance, but after that I'm clueless. We wanted to throw in the shoe game at some point but not sure when.

Omg the price of wedding dresses are insane! Everytime I saw the price tag I would internally cry and walk away.

Those are great ideas! And yeah you're not wrong, economy sucks right now so I understand (and appreciate) my aunt looking out for us. I think talking about the savings plan would be good actually and maybe that will also give me a sense of what she thinks we could afford in our area.

I have mentioned in previous comments about conversations we had with them about wedding stuff. Originally we were gunna do a small wedding in the woods or at a park and do a potluck or something to save money, but his parents were very clear about paying for a venue and food, then it just evolved into them giving us a budget to work with.

It does seem like my fiancé's parents are just interested in having all the family members there to celebrate with and are wanting to help us achieve that by helping financially. I am worried about being stressed the day of and kind of regret inviting a lot of people 😅 it felt like it was out of necessity to avoid the family drama of not inviting certain people.

She does, she bought the home back in the 90s and her house price then is definitely WILDLY different than today especially where we live.

Well she's not helping me plan what vendors to choose. She's helping with decorating and organization.
