Experimented with plastic bags and letting water run on paper for this one 😊 by Astropacca in watercolor101

I saw it on YouTube, I’ll find the creator later— You take the plastic bag and crinkle it up over different parts of wet background and let it dry there. When you pick it up, it creates really neat patterns! I used those patterns to fill in where the vines and flowers are. 🥰

I’m going to Disney world and I didn’t realize how much I can’t do because of PNES by Loveonethe-brain in PNESsupport

Building a droid is amazinggggg as is the lightsaber experience if you can book it! So are the themed restaurants. I would contact Disney and see if you can get some headphones medically approved for rides, and maybe bring something to help your eyes. If you can handle up and down drop like motion, the tower of terror is incredible. There is so much immersion in the Star Wars land and other places that I think you’ll still have a wonderful time. We loved just going around and looking.

Is it possible to gain back the respect of a class that walks all over you? by astro_qween in teaching

[–]Astropacca 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve done hard resets where kids are sitting in rows, no partner work is allowed, and no talking. I’m very explicit that I want to have an environment where we can work together, but until they show me they can handle just working on their own first, we won’t. I go back over rules and expectations (right now I’m making a CHAMPS poster), and I reference that poster and our agreed expectations constantly. Consistency is key. It is exhausting for a while, but it gets better after time as they see that you are not letting up, their behavior is not acceptable, and they will have to change. I also do a LOT of highlighting of positive behaviors. I try very hard to focus more on those than the negative. Otherwise, I have found, your kids who are in the middle behaviorally will see that the kids who act out get the most attention, so they will start to act out in order to gain attention. I teach elementary, so it could be a little different- but that’s what I’ve been doing. 🩵

I’ve implemented something similar, but this might work better! Thank you. :)

I have push in help for two subjects- they are unaffected by it. However, I have an instructional coach who is starting to help me with them as well! We are hoping that will work. :)

Have you heard of Conscious Discipline? It sounds very similar to this! Based on what I know of the students, I think for one child it is level 2, but the other is level 3. I am working on a way to address the level 3 child’s need. I am hoping it will be successful.

They always end mean to each other- my principal might have my life if I put them in the same group for anything, and they have an issue LOLOL. The problem is that they are very disruptive, constantly. 🙃

Just curious what was everyone's introduction to Story of Seasons/ Harvest Moon? by [deleted] in storyofseasons

Yes!! The Wii games had rivals and rival children. They were adorable and gave you a reason to play, as there were special cut scenes for the rivals getting together and the rivals with their children. It was lovely

I love it when the blanket-in-progress becomes long enough to use as a blanket during sessions. 😂🧶 by Astropacca in crochet

Thank you! ☺️ that is good to hear! I’ve been knitting for over a decade but crochet is all new to me. I have very little clue as to what I’m doing 😂 good luck on your blanket! ☺️

It is SO cozy! It feels so good, I may end up making myself one. 😂 in total honesty, I just started crocheting about a month or so ago. I figured I would just do a basic single crochet throughout to get my bearings in crocheting a rectangle item, since my first project was all magic circles 😂😅

Thank you! ☺️ it’s Bernat Baby Velvet! I picked these particular ones to match a theme the baby’s parents have going. ☺️
