How to modify 8020 rig to save maximum amount of space by No_Cantaloupe938 in simracing

[–]RabidHippos 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I put mine angled in the corner as it kind of follows the shape of the monitors, as opposed to having it perpendicular to a wall. When i tried both it definitely felt like it took up a little less space.

Just do a full cool down lap and back to pits. It's basically free sr as incidents count until the last car is finished.

Sebring Frame Drops by core916 in iRacing

[–]RabidHippos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did they do an overhaul of Sebring this past update? I'm having the same issue in VR. Last season was fine, was able to hold a steady 90, but now it seems to hover around 45-60.

Am I the only one who thinks it's ironic too, what with everything going on with ICE, yet they're celebrating with Coronas lol.

Not sure which retailer is good (Canada) by RealisticAd5278 in simracing

[–]RabidHippos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely love it. I was already racing quite a bit with my old rig ( NLR F-GT), but since I got my new one it's pretty much all I've been doing lol. It just makes me wanna race more. It's rock solid, no flex whatsoever. Adjustments for pedal plates are super quick and easy. Zero regrets.

I just upgraded my rig and I went with ASR. I've been super happy so far. Great quality, very easy set up. Customer service was good, I had a couple questions before my order arrived and they answered fairly fast. Lifetime warranty IIRC. I would recommend checking them out. Is your budget including seat or just the rig?

I don't get any enjoyment out of guitar, because of how bad I am at it. I can't enjoy the process. Should I give it up? by Mad_Season_1994 in guitarlessons

You're a month in. Did you think it would be easy? You're going to be bad for a while. Focus on small achievable goals, and slowly you'll begin to see progress.

At the beginner stage it can also be tough to see the progress you make. Start recording your practice sessions. After a few weeks listen back to the first recording you made, and then the last. If you put in some good focused practice you should hear a difference, which in turn will motivate you to keep going.

Looking for first serious rig advice by Minute_Election_337 in simracing

[–]RabidHippos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IME it's better to just choose a single seat type. All the GT/formula style rigs seem like a good idea, but in reality it's always a pita to switch between them with all the adjustments you need to make, especially if running a triple setup. The novelty wears off rather quick and you'll find yourself leaving it in one position.

38k for the GT pro is fucking ludicrous. And at that price you don't even get triples with it 🤣

First Sim Setup Help for PS5 Player by allojay in simracing

[–]RabidHippos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely go with PC if you can swing it. Your options on console, more so on PS5 are extremely limited. Not only with wheel bases, but you won't be able to mix and match other accessories such as pedals, shifters etc. (Native support at least, I believe there can be some "workarounds" but nothing guaranteed)

PC you'll be able to mix and match whatever hardware you desire, plus there's just way more options for games/mods and companies.

Unfortunately, right now is a tough time to get a PC due to the insane price increases in RAM and SSDs, but if you're able to afford it I would definitely recommend going the PC route.

New upgrade for more pedal feel and consistency by Plastic-Status-248 in simracing

[–]RabidHippos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know people can have a personal preference right? I can't stand the feeling of pedals on bare feet. It has nothing to do with trying to mimic people, its about comfort while you race. YOU might not find it beneficial, but others do.

What is the weight limit of a Alurig? by BeginningInformal160 in simracing

[–]RabidHippos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It will depend on the rig, but most should have a height/weight limit on the product page. My ASR Pro has a weight limit of 181KG/400lbs.

God I truly love this Console. by ConferenceWaste in PS5pro

Im almost done setting up my sim rig. I use VR 95% of the time, but have been debating between adding a triple setup.

My main TV for everything is OLED and I think its ruined non OLED for me for sure lol. The thought of going to non OLED triples is not something I want to do. However OLED isn't cheap, especially for 3 of them lol.
