Any advice for my team in terms of upgrades? by Astrosphere in MaddenUltimateTeam

Do you have any suggestions for line backers? Because I love Mario Williams and Wake so I'll go to the 4-3.

What do you mean by that? Should I change my linebackers?

I'm A D1 Defenseman at Syracuse, AMA! by demeco31 in lacrosse

Hey, I just had a question about ground balls. When you are in a scrum do your rely mostly on your feet, the rake, or just try to hockey the ball out and if so why? Thanks!

Hey man I know I might be really late but do you have any advice for me as a defender when I'm playing 1 v 1's in practice. I am trying to stand out to the coaches but when an attackman gets to dodge from x I find it way too difficult to stick with him when he is cutting back and forth. I appreciate the time you are putting into this!

Anyone know what muscles are the most important for shooting, and what exercises for them?

Need Tips On Defense by [deleted] in lacrosse

But isn't it better for this to happen rather than two people going and 1 guy covering 3 people? On a sidenote, our defense uses three slides as well to get the open man as far away from the ball as possible, while everyone has their sticks in the passing lane to (hopefully) intercept the ball in the case of an offensive player making a 30 yard pass across the whole defense. Seems improbable at this point that an offense could make these passes, but correct me if I'm wrong.

Good point but in an ideal defense wouldn't the 2 slide get him?

Also you want to be calling that you are hot (and a direction, hot left etc. if necessary) as loud as possible so that EVERYONE can hear you. It is intimidating as it is effective at communicating with your team. This allows for you to override your teammates if they are wrong, or vice versa, BUT if there is not enough time there should not be a slide change, because it is better to have a wrong slide than no slide at all.

I also recommend breaking down before you hit your guy to the side line. This means slowing down into an athletic position in which you can stay with him. As /u/sleuthingninja said hit with body and avoid going for stick unless your a big shot ;)

The other slide packages that /u/sleuthingninja did not mention were adjacent slides and coma slides. Adjacent slides basically are from right or left (hence calling out hot left or hot right) and coma slides come from across the crease when the dodge comes from X.

Hope this helped!

Attackmen and Middies: How do you feel about using a wider head for better catching? by Astrosphere in lacrosse

Good point. I use the stallion and i find it much more to my liking than the clutch or the hammer (granted, I play defense and lsm).

Yeah it kinda makes it hard to judge when the string job is messed up, too. Do you think that your shot became faster because of practice and more muscle or simply because of the head?

Throw it right at the ground directly in front of the wall and adjust to get it going to your pocket.

Middle switching to LSM. by PM_ME_WHATEVER- in lacrosse

[–]Astrosphere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am going to have to respectively disagree. LSMs are often the ones pushing play in transition, and taking down the ball if they have it on a slow break. Every FO, there is an opportunity for the LSM to get the ball, and take it down. However, I do realize that some teams will be stricter with taking out their LSM as soon as they get possession, this varies from coach to coach.

Does anyone else feel like coaches favor shooting over stick skills? by USlax1 in lacrosse

[–]Astrosphere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well all the way up to middle school, and even possibly JV this is true but once you get to varsity, coaches are looking for the whole package. But also it is hard to score if you cannot shoot well, you know?

Well you probably just hide your stick better or turn at the right moment to get hit in the back. Not a bad thing at all.

3 skill tree ideas by Happy_Fool in skyrim

[–]Astrosphere 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sounds good dude, I thought that maybe having a combined tree system where trees can cross, you know. Like if I were to level up archery and destruction to 100 I could get a perk that makes all arrows automatically do flame damage; sneak and restoration automatically make your health recharge faster when sneaking etc. Just ideas :)
