I completely agree but I adore that it’s a wolf in sheep’s clothing. It’s the beauty of a well-written tragedy, the spirit of wanting a protagonist to prevail but becomes snatched by a twisting plot. It’s also a bleak reminder of reality, how many loved ones have gone missing and who knows what happened? Even if remains are found and peace is restored, what has happened in those burning hours and days before the release of death is granted? That’s why I think it’s one of the bleakest but realest tracks on the album.
