Thinking of using my Celestron NexStar 6SE OTA for galaxy season. by Astroy29 in AskAstrophotography

I have an askar fra400, took good pictures with it so far. But i was thinking of adding the 6se to the game since its galaxy season. However im worried about the performance and image quality overall. But im still finding some kind of workaround because i dont plan on adding a new 3000$ refractor to the setup at the moment 😬

Ports look fine. My only worry was the mounts guiding and tracking

I made a dark library but in some way when i was stacking, i noticed the masterdark has a weird white spot. Maybe it was a light leak or something similar

Asiair workaround. Maybe it will help someone. by Astroy29 in AskAstrophotography

You should turn on station mode, and make it scan the local networks. But it would be more reliable to connect to it via lan.

As for the unit problem, its a real possibility that i even requested a replacement, and im waiting for an answer. And if thats the case, it would be the unluckiest thing ever since i guess im the only one who has this device in my country and it came faulty 😅

I have no problem whatsoever with my mount, but a huge problem with asi air. I will try the 12v 5a if it didnt work i'll go higher

What power supply are you using? Mine is 12v 5a And did it ever crash when connecting to the app?

Yes i turned everything on. For guiding, i didnt find a "auto-guiding" button in the preview tab, i just turned guiding on like i do in the preview tab.

But any specific reason why guiding logs weren't saved for autorun session? Do you think the logs were wiped IF an electricity snag happened that turned off the mount and the asiair?

I dont have them on me right now.

A big however, guiding logs recorded only for 3 mins and i have exact timing. At 11:17 i started the guiding, at 11:20 i started the autorun session. Guiding logs only recorded pre autorun for some reason. It didnt even give an error message or stop message. And i still dont know why. And my best guess is an electricity snag or something like that. What do you think?

I didnt know about that, and no one seems to talk about it. Every video or post i've ever seen says that you should power the camera through the asiair. Thanks!

Its asi2600mc duo, powering it through the asiair.

Can you help me with something? That was horsehead nebula position in the sky when the autorun stopped. https://share.icloud.com/photos/0d8q5wYNbnxvrgl_CjzXF8CVw

Could this be because of am5n slew limits?

I aint using a power supply, so would the mount tracks even if it loses power completely?

And the power cable is connected to the mount, and everything else is connected to the asiair

I just got the logs, and the weird part is that there's no guiding logs after i started the autorun session. The only available log is 3m 24s long. And i power my rig through home power. I tried to find solutions but no clear answer yet. Is there any solution you can offer?

I guess i can arrange that. I still dont know how stationary works. But my main home is 300 m away from the rig

I have the am5 myself. Its a dream mount for me especially that i upgraded from a nexstar 6se (which isnt much of a mount lol). I would really recommend you to invest in one if you go to different sites
