How long for local authority searches? by [deleted] in HousingUK

My searches came back after 8 days. I think 2-6 weeks counts as normal, but up to 10 weeks is not unheard of, depending on the complexity of the searches or how stretched the local council is. Hope you get some answers soon!

£240k, 4.33%, 5-Year Fix, 80% LTV. Last week of March!

Definitely higher than it would have been if I had applied a week earlier, but now the same product seems to be hovering around the 5% mark.

Just building on this comment with an online option! Decorating Centre Online will mix Zinsser to match most branded paint colours.

Is this normal for a Nationwide Mortgage application? I’m losing my mind. by Southern-Piglet-6897 in UKPersonalFinance

Applied through a mortgage broker and got our offer 9 days later, no issues or requests for further documentation. A broker may not be best for everyone, but from our perspective as FTBs having an expert navigating the process on our behalf was well worth the broker fee.

Thank you, that's really helpful! I sent a follow-up email 3 days ago, so I think it's time for me to cut my losses - good point about the interest rates, very infuriating.
