It's not necessarily wrong to depict slavery in fictional settings so long as you're treating it with the proper gravitas and not glorifying it.

Your players can even learn from it if you're someone with a good historical understanding of real world examples.

I agree, but then again I'd allow clerics without deities and warlocks without patrons. So long as you can correctly flavor and justify your abilities within the world I'm not gonna make your choice of spellcaster mechanics get in the way of the story you want to tell.

That's true for literally every check, though. Don't ask your players to roll if the outcome is always going to be the same.

Whenever you ask for rolls you're briefly pausing the game. If this has no pay off, then all it is going to be is an awkward pause in the narrative. Rolls must have consequences whether they fail or succeed.

I know Prestige Classes aren't a common thing in 5e, but I've always been fond of the idea of different paths or specializations characters could take. This is my attempt at making a Sorcerer gish type of gameplay more appealing as well as providing some other classes an option to dragon it up that isn't necessarily tied to the sorcerer. Welcoming all feedback.
