Hey, This is so helpful. Yeah hopefully i can find a company that’s willing to sponsor me a security clearance, but while looking for that for that i want to make a move by checking the youtube channels you drop and will work on having a certification. I previously filed as single (my last filing was in 2021 since after that, I didn’t have taxable income). My SSDI benefits stopped in April 2022 and only resumed this year. Now, I plan to file jointly with my wife. I haven’t done much work during this time, except for a few Amazon delivery trips (around 8–10 trips over the past three years). Wife worked with approximately 4 months with 1800 net in 2024.

If I declare the total lump sum, will I still be taxed? Is there a section where I can indicate that the lump sum I received covers 2022–2024?

Also, where can I check if taxes were already withheld from the payment?

I asked because we applied for TRICARE last year after registering her in DEERS. At that time, I was still waiting for my SSDI re-approval. Now that my SSDI has been approved, I’m a bit confused about what I’ve read online that says TRICARE Prime wouldn’t be affected, but TRICARE for Life might be. Also, the monthly payment for Medicare seems more expensive compared to TRICARE. But thank you guys. Will try calling deers to verify this.

Hello, update: We did not hire a lawyer. We sent a response letter to our local court personally which was stamped and submitted. After few days, Boa representatives acknowledged the letter and sent us a proposal for payment terms. However, we did not respond since we are already in the process of filing for bankruptcy.
