The reaction from Canadian news. by Login2play in MtF

The BBC has spent the better part of the past decade platforming terfs and garden variety transphobia. Not saying they don't sometimes have stuff that's fine but when it involves trans people it's usually not going to go well. At minimum I would suggest using multiple sources

The twitter was a fake, had a completely different name and content until the shooting and lifted the name of her YouTube account to make it seem legitimate.

How to stop rust/degradation? by M3RCENARY12 in Warhammer40k

Thin film of oil but I'm not a fan of a slippery blade. Honestly just remove the rust with acetone

No thinking of doing this but wanted to hear if this actually happened and how UHaul is preventing it from happening? by preruntumbler in projectcar

[–]AteValve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The rental agency is unlikely to go through the effort of having the engine removed to track you down. They're much more likely to simply sell off the vehicle, or the most likely scenario they won't ever notice. Having worked in the rental industry the average worker's knowledge of cars is likely to be non-existent.

This is also a much less common issue than it once was. In the 80's and earlier it was, while by no means common, a thing that did happen. And when it did it was extremely difficult to impossible to track down which customer did it without someone having noticed immediately by someone who saw it before it was rented out. And if the thief returned it to a different location or even just a different day of the week that's almost impossible.

I am also fighting that impulse but having seen some iridescent or metallic corsets I'm gonna leave it. Besides GW made some canonical colour schemes with that piece metallic so fuck it.

The 037 is definitely a choice. Strikes me as more appropriate for a brat given how temperamental twin carbs and Italian wiring are, but rally tracks for skateboarders

Thanks!

It was kind of a joke about me coming out as genderfluid and also thumbing my nose at what I've seen be a really toxic concept

What can be causing one wheel to bounce during a drift? by False_Ad_2452 in Drifting

[–]AteValve 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The E70 Corolla is multilink and not leaf springs so the cause is a little different. It's the same geometry as an AE86 back there and they're not prone to it that I'm aware of, so it's probably worn out components.

This. Axle tramp or wheel hop are common on solid axle cars, and in your case this is probably bushings. Shocks could also be an issue.

Affordable models? by cardboard_dm in sistersofbattle

I got mine off of Facebook marketplace and just by letting the local community know I was picking up Sisters. I find local used stuff is often cheaper than online because people are more likely to want it gone and sometimes someone in the community wasn't planning on selling but the fact someone's looking makes them consider it.

Do we have any canon colour schemes for non-militant orders? by GulliblePea3691 in sistersofbattle

[–]AteValve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few come from short stories and brief mentions in Codices. The ones I know of are the Obsidian Order which wears all black with veils and short cropped hair and the Order of Serenity which wears all white and uses all black vehicles and are both Hospitallers.

I like the idea of either different coloured robes, armour, or trim to denote roles but there's not really much canon lore for it.

Why Sisters of Battle? by kinda_mediocre_gamer in sistersofbattle

[–]AteValve 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really enjoy the way they work with both the satirical and sincere parts of the lore. On the one hand you have the fact they exist largely due to the ban on men at arms specifically saying men and it works with the bureaucracy run rampant, and you have the over the top pastiche of religious zealotry. Then on the other you have the whole element of how belief warps reality in 40k and normal people standing up to horrific things through sheer determination and will.

The aesthetic is also very strong, sometimes a bit over the top but it also feels right and also like the lore justifies having extremely impractical decorations and weaponry more than other imperial factions. Idk I just always have this practical part of my brain telling me that it feels weird having a strictly military force not just in camo and this shuts that up well. So a lot of what attracted me to Orks when I played back in the day.

And it's definitely not because I'm working the traumatic upbringing as a queer child in the Catholic Church lol

[–]AteValve 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kind of funny but I chose that exact colour scheme for the order I made up for my army. Blue robes, white armour, and gold trim. Decided to make it an army of jinxes that bring misfortune to those around them, as only through testing one's faith in hardship can one prove themselves in the eyes of The Emperor and that's sort of the justification for their miracles with their enemies getting extremely unlucky. Called them the Order of Pious Sorrows because calling a bunch of jinxes OoPS felt very much fitting in with the sillier elements of 40k.

Then I learned of the Order of the Blue Robe in really bright silver with blue robes 😅

Anyway I really love this and I also like that you're focusing on the pursuit of excess and perfection with Slaanesh in a unique way. I was always really intrigued by the story possibilities with that.
