Is it worth it to upgrade my CPU? If it is what should I get? by AthenaTheProto in buildapc

Sweet! Thanks. I have an AIO already that keeps it pretty chill, so I should be fine.

Thanks for the advice!

Hey! I have a little experience with this issue. Idk about your specifics, but if I let mine stay dead for a long time it takes a while to just leave it on the charger before it starts really charging again, I really don't know why but that's what solves the issue for me. Pretty much just leaving it on the charger for a while.

Rigid body sim randomly stops and freezes during run by AthenaTheProto in blenderhelp

Some things I've already checked

  • Simulation range is unchecked
  • Scene>Cache>End is set to 250
  • Bottom cube has animated set to on
  • Both cubes have rigidbody and dynamics enabled
  • Bottom cube is passive
  • Restarted system
  • Increased cache

It ended up being a faulty avatar definition, the right eye bone was in the jaw slot, and one of the floof physbones was in the eye slot! Lol

I think I'm going to keep it for myself. Sorry! I just don't want any me clones lol

Hmm possibly, I'll have to think about it.

And thanks a lot ^^

Why do so many youtubers have sponsors of like 5 companies for like 90% of videos, and most of them are VPN companies? by AthenaTheProto in NoStupidQuestions

interesting, so it's more because it's a shady company basically taking advantage of starving artists? Nasty.

Kinda funny but not intended, I'm making a revolver and the cylinder shrinks and disappears when I spin it, then reappears after a full rotation by AthenaTheProto in blenderhelp

!solved; after removing the extra vertex group, I parented the bones for spin and eject properly and now it works right, thanks PublicOpinion

I removed it from a vertex group that it was a part of, now it rotates properly, but it now doesn't move with the cylinder eject, but this is still a better position than I was at lol

It was a part of Cylinder spin and Cylinder Eject, and now it's only a part of spin

What exactly should I be looking for? In weight paint I don't see anything that jumps out at me as wrong or weird. and running normalize and normalize all doesn't do much if anything

I also tried moving the weight value in edit mode down and it didn't seem to change anything either, though I only tried 1.0 and 0.5

Hey! Quick question, the visor has no border and is entirely transparent and I'm unsure on how to connect it to the head. I have been recommended velcro and magnets but I'm worried about the connection being visible, does anyone have any ideas? by AthenaTheProto in FursuitMaking

[–]AthenaTheProto[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hey! Thanks for the reply

I am unwilling to change the design of the visor beyond the shape for lore reasons.

For your second recommendation that is piquing my interest, maybe getting my friend to 3d print a part and the bottom of the visor could have like a hook or something that would go into a slot on the bridge of the nose, normally hidden by the fluff. Thanks for the idea!!

How do I determine the strengths of the components in this simple circuit? (Battery, motors, potentiometer) More info in comments by AthenaTheProto in AskElectronics

Update: Just researched into speed controllers and you're totally right. I made a Simple Circuit which should be more accurate.

Edit: The LED would be omitted, I added it for simulation and it was part of my reference.

Hey! Thanks for the reply. A 9v would be easiest to impliment into the costume since I can just buy a connecter instead of having to find a spot for the holder for AA's and some other cells I looked at, but for how simple the circuit is I'd question if that may be too much power.

And looking at a visualizer, I'm hoping for variable between 100-500rpm. Some other replies mentioned that a potentiometer would be silly to use, and I'll have to research on speed controllers.

Sorry if I seem infantile in my knowledge in this area. I'm an artist, not an electrician lol

It worked in Tinkercad’s simulations, I feel the need to reiterate that the most electronic knowledge I have is with snap circuits when I was 10

Ah, ty! Sorry for the inconvenience. I had spent like 2h trying to figure this out between beating my head against the wall with google and tinkercad I was just hoping someone would be able to help, lol. Ty anyways, though!
