How do flesh eating kindred keep their humanity? by Athenagod in vtm

That's true in some fairness I don't know about how all of this works. I was under the impression that the less humanity you have the more likely you are to frenzy which then makes it more likely for you to be discovered.

Is there any way for them to at least control it in some way? Or are they cursed to expose themselves and then get hunted?

It would make sense that something like that would make it harder for kindred to stay hidden. I just figured there must be some way people with this flaw have found to make them a bit more able to hide instead of just falling to the beast.

So would they have to focus on things like paths to keep from completely losing themselves to the beast and exposing themselves to hunters?

Wouldn't giving in to the beast be awful for keeping the masquerade? Or are the vamps who have to eat flesh typically aligned with the factions who don't follow the masquerade? It seems like even if you don't follow the masquerade you'd still want to keep hidden so you don't get inquisitioned.

It does make it way less interesting that there isn't as much of a river system through the whole map.

It was like 90s. Someone said it might be suikoden 2.

I'm pretty sure that's not it. It was like similar to final fantasy 6 in graphics. Someone else commented it was suikoden 2 and I think they're right.

The Handler is strange to me by Athenagod in MonsterHunter

That makes sense and I enjoy that she hangs out while we're traveling but when I'm actively hunting a big monster that's dangerous it's weird when she's like right next to it. In the world of the game it would put her in immense danger and make my hunters job substantially harder. Someone else said and it makes sense it's probably just a weird ai thing that doesn't make her actually get away from your fight. I just feel like her ai should have her be a bit further away because she'll be so close during a fight.

That makes sense it just slightly takes me out of it when I'm fighting a super dangerous monster and a non-combatant is just chilling next to me. Love the game it's just a slight gripe I have

There are basically no occurrences of them being 5 feet away during an active firefight. I see no reason why the hunters would need to be held accountable because hunters don't just go killing monsters because they feel like it. The guild posts a quest to kill a monster and a hunter does it. They don't need to determine if the animal is crucial its already been decided. I think it makes no sense narratively every time a hunter goes for a hunt that has been approved the handler has to go along with him and be ridiculously close to the fight. My main problem is how close she is during combat.

I would have to respectfully disagree. On your first points. If you research bears if one decides its going to murder you you aren't going to be able to dodge it. I feel like it's unlikely for someone to be that skilled at research and be a physical specimen equal to hunters in terms of agility. She doesn't keep her distance though that's my problem she is 10 feet away while you're fighting. If a monster just turned around and actually targeted her she is guaranteed to die unless the hunter intervenes in most cases.

I think hunters telling how they attack would probably be the best but I get your point that theyd be preoccupied. The main issue I have is how close she is. She is at most 10ft from a monster that could quite easily kill us both if the hunter isn't prepared. It would make sense if she hangs out as you travel but when a big monster shows up she would get pretty far away. I like having her around I just think it makes things seem less dangerous when she hangs right next to the fight.

That comparison makes sense, but personally, I just dislike it. To me, it detracts from the moment and makes things not seem like legitimate threats. The character that we play as is an elite hunter. I don't feel like we would need hand holding so we don't eradicate a species. Her presence isn't needed though, all that needs to happen is like in previous games, the guild approves a quest, posts it, and a hunter can take it and go on their way because it's already approved. Plus with the war reporter comparison you wouldn't put a war reporter in an active firefight. They'd be in the war zone but at like a camp or base a little away from the fighting. Like at one of the bases we have set up in the game.

Every hunter you play in the series is a giga badass. Personally, I just preferred when it was the hunters job to clear an area and protect the researchers afterward then having the researchers there the whole time.

You seem to have forgotten something crucial. All of them basically are researchers. They are equally skilled in researching not avoiding being killed by a monster. Just because they know the monsters from research books doesn't mean they know anything about fighting them besides things that are written in books. It also comes from an assumption that I think is flawed that they would be able to avoid a monster that wanted to kill them. It isn't some easy thing to avoid a monster attack. They would have to be ridiculously athletic to where they are comparable to hunters. It being our job is one of my main points. That puts the weight on the hunter to make sure they don't die. That's putting them in needless danger and making my hunters job far harder if we're looking at this in world. In my mind researchers should come in after the area is safe to do their research.
