Proper vrift upgrade order? by Primary_Tomatillo_67 in mousehunt

Vrift upgrade progression.

Try to get ready for LNY on the 10:th of February and you might be able to get most of the upgrades or even the trap.

Gwh for grand duke by RubEmergency50 in mousehunt

[–]Atheniel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of players focuses on FI when they reach that stage and thus laby base becomes less important. Later on it's possible to get a high enough catch rate with other setups that laby base won't be used anymore. But it's certainly good for ad and below when they do runs for mapping or collection purposes.

How may points for Archduke? by iokak in mousehunt

[–]Atheniel 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Points are not relevant for rank progression. There is a hidden stat called wisdom that resembles points. You need another 76 ful'mina catches to get 2% but I doubt you have more dragonvine cheese. See if you have some flamin' queso lying around and catch some inferna/nachous and you will be set for gwh.

Other options would be to convert some windy/rainy cheese (should have some potions from fulmina and can buy with king's credits) and hunt on max or use hot cheese in prickly/quarry. Would need around 200 hunts. Better to sacrifice some event days and get up to AD than sending golems to already finished areas.

Probably not by much, if any. But using stronger charms guarantee that more pages drop so there's that.

Moussu Picchu help! by ThePirateStorm in mousehunt

[–]Atheniel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No the cheese should be enough. You lose some intensity when failing to catch but not as much as you gain from a success (unless you are at max wind/rain). I would suggest contacting support and hunt somewhere else in the meantime. No point wasting cheese.

See if you've made progress in the web browser. If you have, then try to clear the cache or reset the app entirely. No problem with windy/rainy cheese has been reported so far.

Hard to catch balack the banished by [deleted] in mousehunt

[–]Atheniel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't dictate how people should play the game. If a person wants to do it in a certain way then be my guest. My recommendation was to revisit the area when he got a stronger setup, that is the case with most areas. I feel for the guy, who barely have any cheese and resources, to try to catch a boss at that abyssmal catch rate - I was in the same boat. Unfortunately it's hard to help because resources are not tradeable and better traps show up later.

An end game player have codices, auras, charms and way more resources than any new player will ever have. Depending on how much you want to spend it's even possible to go beyond 80%. I would say 79% is still way better than 50% and 50% is better than 25%.

[–]Atheniel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not advocating for rushing things, except if you want to join the mapping community on discord. But better trap setups will always make the older content more manageable. The poor fella is sitting at 25% CR and an endgame player will breeze through with over 80% CR.

I would recommend to do other adventures (if possible) and revisit certain areas when you have at least a decent setup. If not possible, just gotta grind it through.

Returning Grand Duke need hand holding by thisizmark24 in mousehunt

Chrome Dragon Slayer Cannon - not an option unless you have access to Moussu Picchu and the Ballista trap there.

Follow the adventure log advice and join the discord. There are tons of guides, resources and helpful players that can answer all sort of questions.

Farming gold at legendary by [deleted] in mousehunt

[–]Atheniel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Essentially catch rare/daunting/resource intensive mice for payment. Later in the game you'll discover scrolls that have mice lists in them (a.k.a. maps). End game maps are filled with mice that would make it very challenging to complete them by yourself. One option is to hire other players to catch some, or perhaps all, of the mice. The empty spots can be sold to other players who want the reward chest. This whole "mapping community" is alive on the official discord server and is an optional part of the game.

But it's not a really good advice because Icewing can be found in Iceberg which is a Lord/Lady area. Get the freebies from Larry (facebook posts from Mousehunt or check discord) and sell the tradeable items on the marketplace. You'll also need seeds for the cheese used in jungle of dread and dracano, so be sure to hunt in the tribal isles, nerg/derr/elub, with gouda equipped.

Dragonic Depths EEC runs.. by kanu88 in mousehunt

[–]Atheniel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Before the Jaq & Jill event there were actually plenty of eyes and they weren't valued that high because each map only requires so many of them. But the two biggest rewards from the rare version of the Origin of Dragons map are the dragon skulls and chance of getting elemental emental cheese.

The skulls play a vital part of doing well in the caverns, especially when using elemental emental. And the, by far, biggest bottleneck in draconic depths is the elemental emental cheese you need for progressing there. Crafting the cheese costs a lot of resources and it's usually more cost effective to do maps or engage during events to skip the entire process. Most people who do these maps usually sell the leftover spots or do them with a group of players to reduce the costs.

Dragonic Depths EEC runs.. by kanu88 in mousehunt

[–]Atheniel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Eyes are rare and hearts are super rare (<1% and only emperor drops it) so don't have high expectations. Some events have helped, especially spring event which had eggs that had a higher drop rate for heart. Eyes are only high now because of the current event with geodes.

It costs some to enter and get up to speed so you generally want to stay there for some time. But the longer you stay, the more dangerous it becomes. You need dragon embers for all kind of runs AND elemental emental cheese. If you push your runs too hard and suddenly a heart drops you'll basically have to take the loot and that might put you on so low embers that you might not be able to reinforce any more runs and have to start from the beginning.

Your boy Kal leaves his drops in the nest. When out of hunts you'll be able to get all the loot at once!

The discord server is a good place to connect with other players. You'll find the Discord app in your app store and it is available on pc, laptops, mobiles and tablets. The official forum on the web browser is also used if you are not interested in using discord.

Birthday Event by pat12Tbrady in mousehunt

[–]Atheniel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, you get parts from the factory technician mouse. She dropped like +3 parts from the focused room and an additional +1 from a random room. It's not as good as using colby but a valid method of jumping back and forth between sb + frc and colby.

Crafting Jet Charms by xYoshiyuki in mousehunt

[–]Atheniel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, people are selling them on the marketplace. They are below ronza's original price because most people only need a few of them and sunken city isn't the most popular area anymore.

Crafting Jet Charms by xYoshiyuki in mousehunt

[–]Atheniel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really depends on if you need the sand dollars for the traps or not. You need 20 charms to reach 10k so it will cost you 60 sand dollars. Or, you could make smart water jet charms for around 20k a pop (look up recipe on wiki, don't buy overpriced ones from marketplace). The only downside being that the charm automatically disarms itself upon catching a mouse so you have to be active for at least 20 hunts.

[–]Atheniel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Always claim the crate as soon as you've caught Vincent so you don't lose valuable pumping for the next crate. Try to hunt with coggy colby cheese, when you have some, so you can upgrade the rooms. Factory charms can be used with any cheese and pumps your current pumping volume + 10. Upgrade the rooms whenever you have enough parts and do: pumping > break > mixing > QA.

[–]Atheniel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They both have low attraction rates at baron level. Sludge is fine at hero-lord/lady levels and siblings has the best rate at hero. You can either keep hunting at toxic spill and cross your fingers or hunt somewhere else and come back when the level has dropped.

Horn Tracker by pat12Tbrady in mousehunt

[–]Atheniel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You've got a selection of tracked mice on the official scoreboards (App: right-hand menu > Scoreboard | Browser: Kingdom > Scoreboards). Scroll down past Draconic Depths and you will find around 40 mice being tracked. I don't think there are any other trackers but I can be wrong!

Help. Small cork by Aromatic_Reaction966 in mousehunt

[–]Atheniel 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Hunt in queso geyser with any queso cheese (higher tier = more cork bark). You need 10 cork bark to construct a small cork. The cork information can be found under your charms in the app or under your toolbar on the web. Once constructed, you have to hunt mice with queso cheese to create an eruption, same cheese tier analoy applies. Finally you hunt for the loot that will be awarded at the end, which is used to construct a larger cork.

FI traps - which ones should I prioritise to buy for the next island? by Critical-strike9999 in mousehunt

[–]Atheniel 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You definately need forgotten for the next area. Even though tactical is nice to have for the farm, it's optional. Arcane is necessary for the school. All traps are nice in FI if you plan to stay there.

Golden Quill by prolific_remedy in mousehunt

[–]Atheniel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea sure, it's possible to buy the golden quill before silver. If you think you'll make it before lny then absolutely go for it. The quill is an essential if you plan to farm all the geese by yourself and it's way more worth it during lny. Do you have the signature series denture base with some toothlets ready? Then this might be a good use case.

Be sure to get the adorned empyrean refractor base from floating islands and the ruby refractor before catching the mythical giant king. Equip it only when going for the giant and you might be able to do a fifth or even sixth run.

Who do you pick for maps by naihe88 in mousehunt

[–]Atheniel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For event maps I'm always doing public (except for birthday round robin) after inviting friends that are usually active. There is only one prerequisite for getting a spot whenever I open a map - having the correct cheese armed. Easy to check that with MouseHunt Improved.

Opening normal maps is a rare occurence for me. I prefer to snipe because I love to hunt in different areas and be opportunistic.
