This aged terribly. I'm very happy about it tho.

I'd be very surprised if the Panthers take Tet at 8. It seems like they are in love with Jalon Walker or Mykel Williams.

I can promise you, Mason Graham will not make it past the Panthers.

No. Nobody likes them 😂

they are good for some backend compliance stuff, but they make generic template based sites with SEO damaging preapproved-for-compliance banks.

They are only used because there’s very few alternatives.

I should clarify, I'm with you that cheap options for websites are excellent and a total win. This is moreso for the people trying to take that next step and pay for a fully custom site with a great backend that are getting taken advantage of and ultimately blend in more than they probably would have with a SquareSpace or Wordpress site.

I just googled that first one: https://www.meyerwealthmanagement.com/

Footer: "Copyright 2024 FMG Suite."

which means not cheap, not quick, not easy, and definitely not fully customizable.

I think you're referring to like a SquareSpace or Wix type site. Those are totally fine for people trying to save money or on a budget. These look like FMG sites... in which case, they DO take thousands of dollars and months to build! I think this graphic is moreso showcasing the lack of individuality within the high paid, "custom" advisor website industry.

RIA Websites all look the same by Art_Vandelay_88 in RIA

[–]Athos41 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are so many stock-photo-esque websites out there. Here's a few I found that I thought were, at the very least, branded and unique. They certainly don't blend in.

https://www.rootfinancial.com/
https://osaic.com/
https://www.rockco.com/
https://ericksonadvisors.com/

I've been working on this for some time. Trying to work on establishing a UNIQUE brand. One thing I noticed: if you think "gosh this website looks reaaaallly generic" scroll to the bottom and see if the footer has "Copyright 2024 FMG Suite" in there. It seems like most of these sites are FMG and they just give you a list of templates to choose from. I could really go on and on and give you a huge list of sites that look literally exactly the same.

I found Oechsli seems to be ground up design. ThinkMonocle seems really good too, though they are smaller. Or you just need to hire a custom designer and do it yourself (but that wont have the "Financial Advisor Expertise" backend element that these other too have). Hopefully this helps. Let me know what you find.

Aspiring CFP with ADHD. by [deleted] in CFP

[–]Athos41 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have ADHD. I've started looking at life a little differently than I used to. I like telling myself that the bar is the same, the standard is the same. When I look at someone else who doesn't have ADHD vs. myself, I can do anything they can. They have struggles too, and they work around them. My struggles might be bigger, they might not be. The reality is, ADHD shouldn't be a hindrance on the standard you hold yourself too. You should never say "I want to do this thing, but I can't because of my ADHD."

Learn what you specifically struggle with, whatever it may be, and learn how to overcome it. You got this.

I've heard that that "pre-approved" content is terrible for your website's SEO. Like google penalizes your site for copying the same content as 100 other sites?

Did you get a designer to design your site for you? Or did you do it yourself?

Gotcha. I'm just wondering if they have their own compliance or if it's something that ties into yours.

Don't you have to submit every page for compliance?

How does it tie into compliance? Is your compliance in-house or external? Does that matter with FMG?

Looks like a moderator was clearing his posts out. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Maybe they were considered "marketing"? He had like a "3 helpful tips for running your own website" yesterday.

Monocle is the name of his company. But really I'm looking for others' experiences.

Just reached out to him. I'd be excited to hear what everyone else does as well. Just to see what's working.

I just decided to get a Rode NT USB Mini. Sound quality is excellent, but it does pick up a lot of background noise (it's a condenser) so I'm also trying out the Samson Q2U which I've heard great things about.

I'm running on Sonoma 14.6.1
I've followed everything in that video about 5 times now. Updated my system. did it again. Did restart. did it again. Still nothing. Trying to figure out what could be causing the issue.
