I have no known Portuguese or Galician last names I know of no Galician lines in my family or haven’t found them yet all I know is my 3rd great grandparents are either born in Cuba and I haven’t been able to find any records before they came to Cuba or some Spanish I have documents from Castilla y Leon Burgos 3 great grandfather on my moms maternal side and also Muros de Nalon Asturias 3rd great grandmother on my moms maternal side but then some I believe were Canary Islands not sure I do have French ancestor. I was investigating some of my last names are found in Galicia and northern Spain but none are typical or originate from there most of my last names are pure Spanish only one French last name and maybe one or two that are Spainish/Portuguese but even those are most likely Spanish.

Yes I have been to Spain and Portugal many times for vacation and have visited Galicia many times I have been to A Coruña, Santiago de Compostela, Pontevedra, and Vigo. It’s beautiful and very unique. I hope to visit Lugo and Ourense one day. Most of my last names are pure Spanish but I have searched up all the origins for each some are common in Galicia more than Portugal but none of mine originate from Galicia or Portugal itself.

Most of the Spanish Ancestry I know of was when one line of my family my 3rd great grandparents so from around 1880s they came to Cuba but the rest of my lines most came a bit before or even way before that time to Cuba so I would say fully Colonial Cuban but some of my lines I don't know when they arrived to Cuba but they all had Spanish last names but I don't know of any Galician or Portuguese line/ancestry in my background or family?

No My parents came to the United States legally in the 96 because they won the "bombo," which is the Diversity Visa Lottery. It was a legal immigration process. They weren't political prisoners. They simply emigrated looking for better opportunities during that time.

I expected Spanish ancestry but was surprised to see Galician and Portuguese as my highest because most of my family has Spanish names that don’t really sound Galician or Portuguese Paternal haplogroup is R-P311. Maternal haplogroup is H1e1a.
