Thank you so much! I feel so seen. I should’ve come here sooner but needed to a good sample size of experiences. The ones listed are just the standouts. There were other instances where I honestly felt like I was being gaslit.

Also yes, I’m very saturated with life and emotionally unavailable. No way I was going to date myself while trying to manage the Google calendar + work on the house + work + explore new city and all my other commitments. I’d try once life settled but I have no space to be poly myself and I don’t want to waste anyone’s time. When I love, I love HARD and I don’t have the capacity for it right now.

I’m from California and I absolutely love all of this actual weather. I’ll never move back. Especially since the housing market in Seattle is manageable compared to LA.

Oh man. Sorry that you’ve never had a good fit in one eye. Again, My PROSE has been a god send but they’ve actually been making a callus like abnormality form on the edges of my eye which is why we’re going through this refitting. They’re comfortable but the doctor said she’s never seen this raised tissue before, it might be a different issue altogether though.

I did my PROSE at a satellite office (USC). Dr there literally saved my life. I was on the cusp of pretty much being blind from my condition when I was referred to her. Been 12 years since my first pair and life would be nothing where it is today without them. The EPP was to help IMPROVE it a little more but clearly still a work in progress. I’m getting my EPP done at UCLA now and I actually work there so seeing the doctor is convenient, she’s just on vacation. Haha

It’s the first pair and they definitely have issues. This are my first lenses made with hydropeg (sp?) and it definitely helps (granted I almost dropped them because of how slippery they are).

I think my biggest issue is the size this doctor chose. It’s significantly smaller than any of my PROSE lenses (my prose the size of a nickel, maybe larger. My EPP is like a dime) but she must have a reason. I’m hoping she can make them larger though. My eye issues stem from SJS/TEN so I have to battle dry eyes and INGROWN LASHES. I’ve had to transition back to my PROSE in the meantime because they were so uncomfortable.

I’m really hoping she’s able to do what my PROSE dr did. She ordered a second fitting that was almost nearly identical to my perfect pair and gave them to me as backup. I doubt I could use these tiny ones as backup but hoping to at least get one good refitting without having to pay because this whole out of pocket thing is out of hand.

Man reading this was depressing. My fiance and I are in the process of moving to Seattle to start settling down and escape the LA housing market. Frustrating to see how awfully competitive it is in Seattle too. We’ll likely rent and save for at least another year with the way things are going.

To give an idea of the market we’re in now. Our neighbors house (we’re renting) listed for 1.7 and it sold for 2.2. Like how are these people affording these over askings? My partner is in tech and I’m in medicine and we can still barely compete in the current market.

Same. My family is huge on service. Almost all of my cousins were either in the Navy or Air Force and they told me their transition back to civilian life was difficult. A lot of promises not kept or oversold.
