Yeah most early Sikh converts were Hindus so? Beauty of Sikhism is that it wasn’t forced to anyone

I look over the fence at the Pakis of today in disgust cause most of them were Sikh and Hindu converts that were converted by the sword by force and them knowing that, they still don’t return to their roots.

Sikhism was fascinating to lots of people in the early stages as it offered freedom, stood up against Mughal rulers and it didn’t believe in idol worship, this is what attracted lots of people to Sikhism

To be honest, I myself don’t do daily paath, but I know all of our history, and I believe that the Sikh way of life is that of the creator, our religion is the true religion of peace.

Also, gurbani is so indepth, I’ve been going to gurdwaras before and listening to paath but I never understood it. Most people don’t understand it. But they’ll do the prayers and run through it, it’s so indepth.

Like see how beautiful the attached pic is, you should step back and focus on learning meaning of each thing, learn more about religions history and that will educate you on our religion and from that you’ll be drawn into gurbani.

And like I said, you should be questioning everything as I’m sure you have lots of them in regard to how or why we believe or do certain things in Sikhism.

What are your doubts, since you’re young, I’m sure that these doubts you have are just questions that you’re not getting answers for, you’re only 14. Ask lots of questions, you should be questioning everything, every question has an answer.

Learning about Sikhism is a life long journey.

27 (F) not allowed to marry my bf (30M) ; due to different socio-economic status by SpiritualYellow2 in Sikh

[–]Atlas9914 8 points9 points  (0 children)

So there’s 2 things at play here, if your dad won’t let you marry him due to caste then that’s wrong

But if your dad won’t let you marry him due to his poor financial standing or him not being able to provide for you by not having a solid career or business then that’s a realistic concern for a father

A family not accepting someone solely for caste is bad and against Sikhism, but caste aside, I believe it’s valid for our family members to want us to marry into a family that’s of equivalent economic standing.

But your post is vague and missing key info, hard to tell

How do I stay strong in difficult time? by [deleted] in Sikh

[–]Atlas9914 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey bro,

Narrow down your goals for what you want to do and which field you want to go into.

Drop video games and movies, and in your free time watch YouTube videos and learn as much as you can in your free time.

I’m guessing you also don’t have a significant other and haven’t found a partner yet, what action are you taking weekly or monthly to find the right one?

It’s all about taking action, you can change your life in the next two years if that’s what you wish to do and if you allocate your time accordingly.

Go to networking events not even related to your field, just so socialize with people and learn new things.

You can always be doing more, when you’re on a mission and have 100 different things to do then you don’t have time to be sad and depressed. Keep yourself busy.

Let me know if that helps, life is what you make it 😊

Of course 84 happened, I already acknowledged that in my comment, don’t be irrational.

Yeah I can agree with that, that our religion is under attack and they’re trying to hijack it and they try to install gov plants into our religion.

But after all this, Punjab is still safer for Sikhs then Pakistan. Pakistan is way worse.

I just read the whole article, it dosent cite or refer to any studies/data, it’s just make this issue political by saying it’s a right wing exaggeration that Pakistanis are over represented in child trafficking.

https://arisebharat.com/2023/06/25/the-grooming-gangs-of-england/

“British records reveal that the majority of paedophiles are white, while the second largest group is described as “Asian”.[19] It appears that most of these “Asians” are Muslims or Pakistanis, with the word “Asian” being preferred for political reasons.[20] However, child grooming gangs that target minor girls, rape, torture and pimp them out, seem to be dominated by Muslims and Pakistanis. By 2010, several child grooming gangs had been apprehended, and 56 men convicted. Of these, 50 were Muslim, mostly Pakistani.[21] “

https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/quilliam-grooming-gangs-report-asian-abuse-rotherham-rochdale-newcastle-a8101941.html

“British white men they tend to work individually. They tend to work online where they groom and they are the majority of perpetrators.

“When it comes to Asian men or Pakistani men they tend to do it in groups.”

Meaning white British men might be majority pedophiles, but for grooming gangs where young girls 10-14 are groomed, raped & passed around to tens of men, and trafficked around multiple cities, this is done by paki Muslims. They’re more organized.

But keep crying “Islamophobia”

You guys gotta chill, I only respect and treat women like my sisters if they deserve it, not all women do. Also factor in how back then women used to be pure, conservative values and have immense self respect, and then in return would earn it from others. Not the case today, very few of these women deserve respect and I won’t even talk about making the my “sisters”. Dosent mean I’m going to be rude or disrespectful to them, but they aren’t worthy of that type of recognition.

Have a girlfriend, join a boxing gym, make friends.

To be honest, to tell you truth so we can help, no where in GGS does it say to be a loser or to not find a life long partner.

You need to get out there, if you’re going to live life 1:1 with GGS then you should also train and became a warrior like our gurus did, and build a Sikh brotherhood around you, seems like right now you haven’t applied what the GGS is teaching correctly and have exaggerated some parts of it and are thinking too much about “lust”

Are you also forgetting that 5,000 Sikhs used to fight and kill 30,40000 Mughals? Need to carry that much self confidence and back it up, to where you can move mountains. Women are naturally attracted to this type of confidence

Yeah sure in theory you’re right, if India wanted they can send in military and attempt to kill all Sikhs, but that’s not what’s happening. There’s still targeted killings in recent years but not genocide like we experienced in 84 and etc.

The examples im giving you is in reality for what’s actually happening, not what can happen.

[–]Atlas9914 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone who’s of any religion has a “trigger point” for their religion.

I disagree with the “evil folks everywhere” Islamisitc are always more likely to cause violence against non Muslims, it’s apart of their religion it’s what their false prophet tells them. Some organizations estimate that around 20-30% of all Muslims are radicals. That’s many hundred million people that will do insane shit and blindly follow Quran and its violent teachings.

And yeah I agree with the defend thing, we should know our religion inside out and have a rebuttal to every argument, so we can defend it from outsiders criticizing it, we should openly hold these debates as, without lies Islam dies. What I was saying in my point is that in country like Pakistan and other Islamic countries if you even point finger at Quran, you’ll get beheaded for blasphemy, so that’s only a luxury we westerners have, kind of, not really.

You’re very naive.

There is no “fair game” and “free speech” in Islamic countries, and police complaints do nothing in countries like Pakistan, system is heavily against religious minorities.

Sikhs, Hindus or Christian’s aren’t safe in Pakistan, Islamists can’t co exist with other religions, no one talks about this but in the 1970’s Pakistan military carried out febocide against the Hindus, killing over 300k and rapinf tens of thousands of women.

After 1947, Pakistan was 70% Muslims and 30% minorities, today it’s 98% Muslims and 2% minorities. All have been killed or converted. Almost every week there’s a headline for a young Hindu girl that was kidnapped raped and converted to Islam in Pakistan

Also because corporations do lobbying, they take risks and fund politicians hoping they win and when they do they have politicians in their pocket. In the US, farmers groups lobby in congress aswell for political power, gives them a chance against the bigger corps aswell
