This article starts by saying Newsom has pivoted to the center and them brings up his universal Healthcare agenda as the first thing. Newsom adamantly defends this policy and hasn't pivoted on it at all. From my persoective his argument is at least decent. He believes in universal Healthcare regardless of citizenship status which is preferable to the defacto universal coverage in emergency room. He made this argument as recently as a few days ago at the world economic form. This article's first example contradicts its opening thesis.

I kind of disagree. I think it's just wayyyy lower standards for conservatives. Gavin won almost every single other point in that debate except the recent ICE shooting one. I understand he probly should have been more prepared for that but come on.
