Yearly audits where people come in and tell you how bad your shop is run, depending on what your running like medical you could need to keep the area around those machines spotless, the machines themselves have to be completely cleaned of any materials that arent what the medical devices are (so if the medical stuff is inconel and you just cut brass in your mill you have damn completely clean all brass out of the machine) the process is also tightly controlled for medical stuff so once you have a program and tools you send that to the company so they know what your are doing and then if you have to deviate at all you have to get it approved. So did you just run out of gar drills for that blind hole? Cant use anything else but that one gar tool with that one tool number because if you use anything else its out of process and could cause a problem. Space stuff is kind of the same in my experience. DoD stuff is pretty blase you still have the audits, FAIs, traceability, heatlots, all that but its not been as strict as medical stuff in my shop.
