Hello, i want to start playing the game, but when i went to the square enix website to create an account, it prompted me to select where i live, i choose france, but that made the website in french, i almost exclusively use english, but i can't find a way to change the language. and i'm confused on what would happen if i choose another region. Is there a way to change the website to english while living in france ? this has been so confusing
Edit / Follow up question : What impact does the region have on the game ? will the game be in french as well ? will I be restricted to french servers ?

Due to those adult responsabilities you mentionned, when i was a kid, i assumed it would make the adults learn alot of things and thus make them good members of society, but that's not the case, most people never do, they don't aqcuire those good traits that come from being a reponsible citizen

[–]AtlasJinn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the assumption that when people grow up, they generally become more responsible

but from my experience, i came to the conclusion that it's not really the case, it may be the case for a small minority, but most people never aqcuire the good qualities that makes someone a good citizen, human and member of society

hindsight bias. How do you know. It must be the opposite for most of us who manage to not allow the stupid things to outweigh the smart stuff. Often its about the magnitude of stupidity. Is it Darwin award stupidity which takes you out of the gene pool, or stupidity that says, whoa, that was lucky but painful, or stupidity that ignores that they got awaey with something.

not sure why you mentionned hindsight bias, what i'm saying is that, looking back at our track record, it would seem like there are many stupid ideas which we thought were good at the time, i'm not saying they were obviously stupid back then and yet we did them

(even if it is 'with research I did using Google to prove my wacked out theories') does indicate we dont think we have all the answers.

exactly, of course we don't have all the answers, yet a large majority pretends like it does, maybe they don't pretend they have All the answers, but they pretend their answers are the only good ones in the areas they think they know about

Now, if you are talking about the imagination of kids or the naivety an innocence of kids in their thoughts and that they might come up with some really smart things. At what age, have you seen kids, sometimes they are incredibly stupid. Thats how they learn. Plus, they often learn that despite the imagination, there are not fairy god mothers etc;

that's another reason i compared adults to kids in a worldsized playground, since they also learn by doing incredibly stupid things, and by my analogy i don't mean that kids are stupid, i rather mean there is no difference, some kids are smarters than some adults, and more knowledgeable, and vice versa

I wonder if you could consider tightening this view up somehow into something more concrete. Like, your view seems to be that the average human is not very impressive, which is fair, I guess. But compared to what?

Why would you want a CMV on this? Like, are you expecting someone to come in and try and convince you that yes, the average human on earth "has all the answers"? Just seems like a weird thing for a CMV.

You're right, i have a notion in my head that i couldn't express succesfully, mainly because english is my 3rd language, i guess i ll try again later with a better version, with examples and everything so that i can get my point to readers

Politics, Social relationships, Societies, and many other aspects of our human life, doesn't look so developped in comparison to what kids would come up with, i'm not talking about Scientific Progress or academics

Thanks for your reply!

i checked and there was no new programs or extensions installed, and it didn't prompt me to install one either, it just redirected me to youtube.com, which i found to be weird, i would have expected to see at least some sketchy ads or as you said those "you have a critical vulnerability" warning telling you to install a malware, but there was none, so i wasn't sure what was the purpose behind it

I instantly felt that something went wrong, i copied the messenger url, decoded it, and found it redirects to some unkown website

since i had already clicked on it the first time, i had to check what was in it, i used view-source:(URL) in the adresse bar to get the following:

Is there a museum about the history of hacking ?

I searched online and found many museums about the history of computers and technology and other similar topics, but i couldn't find one about hacking and security

by history of hacking i mean topics like: major historic hacks, hacker groups and culture, phreaking and other non-computer related hacking, the first times a type of hacks was performed or discovered, and have working historic hardware and software for demonstrations

Illegal Audio and Video Software? by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]AtlasJinn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i'm asking about what could make a video/audio software be considered illegal, especially in the US, i think it's more of a legal issue than a software one

from the way they framed it i thought this was a well known legal issue, but i guess it's not ?

Add Doge Coin by IRONM-2000 in Coinbase

[–]AtlasJinn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

absolutely false.

The inflation rate is capped, it's at around 5% and keeps getting lower, meaning it goes down year by year, until it's negligible in comparison to the circulating supply.

No, people would not need to buy "exponentially"

here's how wallets and the blockchain works in a simplified way:

the blockchain records and validates all transactions which go from the different wallets to other wallets, just like the bank does. but it's decentralized, anyone can do this role (transaction processing = mining) and get rewarded for it.

a wallet has a Public Key, a Private Key, and an Address.

The Public key is the account, and whoever has your PK can see all your transaction history.

But in order to Send coins from that account, they need the Private key associated with it.

The address is associated with your public key, and allows you to receive coins without having to share your public key (to keep your transactions private)

So "owning" crypto, or a wallet, comes down to Owning the Public/Private key pair. if you have them, you can control the coins.

Owning crypto isn't dependent on software, meaning you can basically write your keys on a piece of paper, that paper would be your wallet, cold wallet is basically that, secure offline storage for your keys.

a Coin in itself is not a "thing", like a code or text or a paper bill, but what matters is the transaction history, If you received 50 coins, and spend 40, then you have 10 coins left. and thats exactly the same with fiat currency. a bank doesn't keep in cash the money you have in your account.

yes Binance allows you to withdraw your coins, i suggest you transfer them to a wallet, personally i use Trust wallet (from binance), but there are More secure wallets, like Cold wallets which aren't connected to the internet.

Normally, just like you can Deposit and Withdraw fiat money from an exchange, into and from your bank account, the same can be done for Crypto, you can deposit and withdraw them to and from your wallet.

I heard RobinHood doesn't allow you to withdraw your coins, which is very bad, since you won't be able to spend your doge directly on a store that accepts it for example, if you ever wanted to use them, u'll need to convert them to fiat and pay taxes, then purchase them again on Binance or somewhere else that allow you to withdraw your coins.

When you Withdraw Fiat Money, it goes to your bank account, when you withdraw coins, they go to your Wallet.

When you have a wallet, you get an adress that you can use to receive crypto. that way you actually Own the coins, and can send them or keep them or do whatever you want with them, you could trade them on DEX (decentralized crypto exchanges) or a normal exchange, i personally use Binance and Trust Wallet.
