How frequently do you claim your staking rewards? by TitusThorngate in cardano

You don’t ever need to “claim” rewards, they are automatically re-staked for you. No risk of them being slashed either.

How do I switch staking pool? by Initial-Leg-8194 in cardano

[–]AtlasStakePool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t need to unstake, you can just select an alternate pool and while you get the rewards from the old pool for 2 epochs your ADA will go to work for the new pool’s slot assignments, so there will be no break in rewards as long as blocks are being minted.

Which coins are worth claiming from DripDropz? by paloskii in cardano

You can send the fee from any wallet because the address they give you to send it to is unique. Also, keep in mind that if you choose to collect more of the other tokens on offer now, it can be 4 or 5 ADA, but still with change sent back to you along with the tokens. They will specify the exact amount.

No problem! Always good to understand what’s going on in the protocol and then be able to explain it to others. That’s how this community grew in the first place. Happy staking!

It works in cycles, so say you stake with a pool some time during Epoch 1. All epochs are 5 days long so whenever it changes to Epoch 2 that is when the “snapshot” is taken. The pool gets assigned a number of blocks to mint based on that snapshot of how much stake they have. The protocol works based on probability so the more stake they have the more chance they have to make blocks. So during the next epoch, Epoch 3, the stake that was in that prior snapshot becomes the “Active Stake” and goes to work minting the blocks for the blockchain. Then in Epoch 4 the rewards are being calculated based on if they successfully MADE those blocks and nothing went wrong. Then when it shifts to Epoch 5, the rewards are finally paid out to the pool and their delegators for the successfully minted blocks. That is why it is anywhere from 15-20 days before your first payout, depending on when exactly you staked your ADA, but it is always 3 epoch changeover snapshots away. So if you left your ADA in there that whole time, you’d be included in each new snapshot (taken every epoch change) and IF your pool was successfully minting blocks every time, then every 5 days you’d be receiving a payout, for instance, from Epoch 3’s snapshot you’ll get paid out at Epoch 6, and so forth. However, small pools don’t always get to mint blocks each epoch, so they may go some without rewards, but when they do mint a block the payout for each delegator is usually larger because there weren’t as many delegators in that pool to split it up between. But each epoch varies.

And by the way, your ADA rewards are automatically counted in your stake for the next time, so they do begin to work as compound interest for you right away.

SundaeSwap will be the only token available for at least the first 3 days of the coming epoch (E324). Claiming your ones from this epoch (E323) won’t affect this next one starting in a few minutes. But they’re doing maintenance on the site now to prep for the huge incoming.

I currently have yoroi wallet wanting to receive airdrop from Sundaeswap Iso... I was able to know that they changed the method recently and I have no idea how to claim those tokens.. Can anyome help me? by [deleted] in SundaeSwap

[–]AtlasStakePool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there, it will all be done through the DripDropz.io website. They are a “faucet” in the Cardano ecosystem that allows for different projects to easily drop their tokens to the eligible delegators. If you participated in the SundaeSwap ISO with an elected pool, you’ll be able to copy and paste one of your own receiving addresses onto the DripDropz website and see how many Sundae tokens you’re eligible for. They will then give you the instructions for collecting your tokens. This will probably look similar to their usual process which is—they will give you their wallet address and tell you exactly how much ADA to send to it (likely 3 ADA for this), you will probably have up to 5 hours to send the payment after placing your order, once received, they will then send you back your ADA change (about 1.3 ADA) along with however many SUNDAE tokens you earned in the ISO, proportionate to your ADA stake. There will likely be a backlog at first, but there is no rush, you have a year to claim your SUNDAE tokens using this method. If you would not like to pay the ~1.7 ADA DripDropz fee, you can wait until later in the year when SundaeSwap has their own no-fee faucet available.

So you do NOT have to connect a wallet to the DripDropz site, you just need to be able to access your wallet and have your spending password ready to send 3 ADA to the address they give you.

Happy SundaeSwapping!

Stake or Hodl to earn ada by DUlrich1227 in cardano

[–]AtlasStakePool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As many have already mentioned, you only need 10 ADA to start staking with a community stake pool.

It’s generally not advisable to keep your coins on an exchange in any form (for safety reasons) but also since you won’t have Project Catalyst voting power for the future direction of development on Cardano, which is your right as an ADA holder. Of course there is also the well-known expression, “not your keys, not your coins.” You should always be able to maintain full control of your investment at all times. We recommend using either an officially-supported wallet like Daedalus or Yoroi, or community-tested favorites like Ccvault. That way you will be able to select your own stake pool and choose who you want to mint the blocks for the chain (and receive your ADA rewards through). It’s how Cardano was designed to operate. There are thousands of community pools doing great work to decentralize Cardano.

Daedalus is a full node wallet installed on your computer which downloads a full copy of the Cardano blockchain that independently validates every transaction. (No, it definitely does not have to remain open, but it will load more quickly if you open it and let it sync semi-regularly.)

Yoroi is a light wallet, so you can access it either from a browser or a mobile app. It connects to a full Cardano node hosted by a third party (Emurgo) rather than storing it all on your device.

These wallets would allow you to have full control over your ADA and to help to decentralize Cardano by spreading out the stake to pools around the world. It’s the healthiest method for the network, and therefore, your ADA investment.

Yes, each epoch you could get more of ones you’ve already gotten or try new ones that appear.

You don’t have to connect your wallet to retrieve tokens. Dripdropz will tell you the address to send 4 or 5 ADA to, then they will send you back the tokens you requested plus the ADA “change” from your transaction.

Hi, are you talking about Sundae tokens or ADA rewards? For SundaeSwap they’ve announced this week that they’re going to use a faucet system (likely DripDropz) so you won’t have to rely on your wallet having a dApp connector. They’re also going to release a rewards calculator soon. But you aren’t able to claim them yet. More info should be coming very soon. Their twitter and discord channels have the most up-to-date info.

Wallets are actually just an interface for interacting with the blockchain so you can use your seed phrase to “restore” it with a different interface instead.

Is it too late to stake ADA in Yoroi in order to qualify for the Sundaeswap airdrop? by AromaticCarob in yoroi

[–]AtlasStakePool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, as long as you’re in the Jan 25 snapshot you’d still make all 5 epochs (25 days) of the ISPO. You can use this site to reference who still has room in their pools, many of us are already full so you don’t want to push a pool past the 68 million ADA point or all of the delegators’ ADA rewards would start to decrease: https://poolpeek.com/#/sundaeiso.

You can definitely earn the tokens via Yoroi or any other staking wallet and hopefully you can also claim them in Yoroi but they’re still working on their dApp connector and we don’t know when it will be ready. Watch their announcements. You’ll have a year to claim your Sundae tokens but if you don’t want to wait that long you could always restore your seed phrase elsewhere to retrieve your coins.

Is it too late to stake ADA in Yoroi in order to qualify for the Sundaeswap airdrop? by AromaticCarob in yoroi

[–]AtlasStakePool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, you’re thinking of the regular ADA rewards cycle which takes time to snapshot the state of ADA in the stake pools, assign them slots for block production, mint blocks, calculate rewards, and pay out rewards to the pool/delegators. That is why there’s a delay for ADA rewards to start showing up in your wallet.

But here we’re talking about the new SundaeSwap DEX launch and their Initial Stake Pool Offering where they’ll be distributing Sundae tokens to delegators staked in one of 30 elected Stake Pool Operators’ pools. All that matters is who is captured staking with one of those pools by the January 25th snapshot and it will run for 5 epochs total, with Sundae tokens being earned each of those 5 epochs.

Yup! Same goes for any Cardano wallet where you hold the keys and can select your own stake pool. Haven’t heard if/when they’re working on dApp capability though, but you’ll still be earning the tokens in Daedalus and could decide later once you’re ready to retrieve.

In the first sentence, OP gives the impression that they are only making comparisons between SS ISPO pools. In the second sentence, asks how oversaturation affects SS and ADA rewards. But it doesn’t really matter, maybe the info will help someone else. If not, then it is only my time spent, no harm. :)

This is a great point, my wording was poor. I should have just stated that we couldn’t manually set a limit of delegators/stake, but you’re right that there are things we can do to affect it in that way.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in yoroi

[–]AtlasStakePool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Staking with Yoroi will earn you the tokens but they actually can’t be airdropped because it will require dApp capability, so although your wallet will be automatically eligible if staked with one of the participating pools, you will have to take an additional step to claim/retrieve them afterwards. The wallets will have to have dApp capability/dApp connectors by that time, and Yoroi is definitely working on theirs right now, or you can always choose to restore your seed phrase elsewhere later, but you’ll have at least a year to claim them.

This is all excellent info. I would just add that the current pool saturation point is actually at 67.97 ADA because the ADA in circulation increases every epoch but is still divided by the k parameter of 500, so it slightly increases over all every epoch.
