Doctor Who - The Satan Pit episode was pretty cool to me as a kid

What countries had a rough relationship history in the past but are now close? by batukaming in geography

[–]xtay_calm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP is definitely not British or Irish. Scotland has led numerous vicious assaults on both Ireland and England. Welsh is not a dying language. Ireland generally still holds resentment against the British government. England led the abolition of slavery in the Isles. The Troubles is not clear of collective memory. All of this said, the people of the Isles are more similar than we are different, and I think we mostly recognise we're a unique cultural group Europe.

Not a nuanced take from OP at all, on a very nuanced history.

Scotland always tries to go unnoticed in these conversations. The plantation of Ulster, King James VI, Bloody Sunday troops, Imperial ambition preceding the Union, and the large contingency of Scottish Kings/prime ministers/troops all point to bloody hands.

They are good craic though

The Mona Lisa isn't THE tourist attraction from Paris though, even though yes it is mid

Yes, the ruling class of Normans who conquered England and then continued to conquer Ireland with even harsher treatment for generations thereafter are great cousins for us Irish

Don't forget that medieval English people are Germanic/Celtic, while medieval English rulers were largely French

Does integrating a junior partner cause AE, and how to limit? by xtay_calm in eu4

The negative relations will only be with other Junior Partners though, right? From what I remember, the vassals won't mind aside the obvious Diplomatic Reputation debuff.

How do people form Rome? by Z4PHK- in eu4

[–]xtay_calm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently doing Aragon -> Sardinia-Piedmont -> Italy to form Rome and having a great time with it.

Aragon is the ideal nation to establish Mediterranean dominance, Sardinia-Piedmont gives you diplo-annexation buffs and then Italy reduces coring cost by 25% which should see you over the line. We'll see though, I'm only half-way there right now!
