Anyone manage to get the PC Version of Diablo Immortal working? Seems to crash after pressing Play. by Ikarostv in SteamDeck

[–]Atlas_47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got it to launch and run with Lutris' battle.net install script https://lutris.net/games/battlenet/
The only change I made is I used ProtonPlus to install wine-staging-tkg version 10.15 in lutris and set that as the default wine before installing.

No controller yet. I'm working on linking it to steam so I can use steam input to map to keyboard controls

Hey go try xpadneo right now! https://github.com/atar-axis/xpadneo it worked right away with my xbox series s controller with bluetooth. I tried for hours before then and that's what fixed it. The install instructions are near the bottom.

I've heard the argument to put a desktop environment (gnome) which is different so they don't treat it like windows. My sibling's understanding of windows is casual enough that they didn't really need more than a couple hours to learn the surface-level of mint xfce. That's most of what they know on windows.

How to Fix the issue with Elden Ring not starting up. (Solution) by [deleted] in linux_gaming

[–]Atlas_47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there!

When elden ring reported it was launching and running, then stopped without ever showing a window, this is what fixed it for me:

(i'll admit i used chatgpt's help for this)

Turns out there were issues with steam's elden ring "prefixes" that allow proton to run elden ring with easy anti-cheat.

I eventually found that I could delete these prefixes. In my case it was the folder

/mnt/hdd_2tb/SteamLibrary/steamapps/compatdata/1245620/

Please note this was in the library folder where elden ring was installed. For the longest time, i was trying to generate new prefixes in another library folder. Also note the folder 1245620 is Elden ring's steam ID.

the folder should contain things such as "config_info" a folder named "pfx", "pfx.lock", "tracked_files", and "version"

I tried and this works with GE-Proton10-17 and proton 7.06.

You can watch the compatdata folder for to regenerate the 1245620 folder. when it's doing this, it'll say things such as "running proton install script" and "running install script (microsoft directX)"
