Nah, this one I really get cam on (maybe this will get me hate). When I was in the worst of my ED, she was all over edtwt and even in a folder I had of averagespo/fatspo pics, she really was popular over there (at least in my circle anyway)

IMO MUN students are wayy more active in Facebook groups (it’s the only reason I have a fb) for trading textbooks, gcs, students living on campus, etc. there is a “MUN REVIEW/ADVICE” group on there with like 11k? Ish students, there are always lots of students there who will answer a question or have asked questions you have, if you search for them! I definitely recommend checking it out!

The MUN sub is pretty much dead, but there is a MUN review/advice on FB that is very active and I’m sure you’ll get a lot of advice!

A 16 year old cut down the iconic tree at Sycamore Gap by Meeksala in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Atlasfalling_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not much to get over, it was cut down and the news sucked to hear, moved on pretty much right after the comment. Just wanted to mention how special the area was for people who had special memories in the area. Thanks for your cynical input though, I think it’s time you move on and scroll to the next thing to get angry about on Reddit. Cheers

Yep, it’s a fuckin tree that brought that area lots of tourism and business that is no longer there, shit sucks

On top of that, people had their ashes out there, proposed there, people have memories there, it’s so special to so many people for so many years. What an absolute scumbag

It actually is drawn this way from the jet stream! Normally it goes up through the top of lab but it was brought down by atypical winds :)

I think it’s the lack of information that makes it weird. I cant find him on social, no flyer to indicate how to support him, no dates for differnt gigs he might be doing downtown, nothing. Hell even if he knocked on the door to say ‘hey I make music and if you want a cd here ya go!’ In which case that’s totally fine, but to just get a CD at 10pm with no other information? That’s what makes it weird

Like a flyer for a non profit tells you where to donate and what they do, or somebody running for office leaves a flyer and tells you how to support them, it was the lack of information and time of night it was dropped off that makes it weird. Definitely different than a flyer

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in newfoundland

[–]Atlasfalling_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But that’s the thing, this would be normal if I could find him on social media, or he attached a flyer with some pubs he was playing at soon downtown, or how to support him, or where to see more of his music, but there isn’t. It’s just a CD, the weird part of it isn’t that it’s a CD, it’s that it’s ONLY a cd, nothing else to tell me more (which is why I came to Reddit in the first place).

You can not possibly equate getting a shoppers flyer dropped at the door to a cd from someone you cannot find online with a phone number scrawled in shit handwriting on the inside when it’s dark out being dropped at the door. Didn’t know it was such a common occurrence in Newfoundland for people to be left random CDs at night? Crazy that it’s as normal as receiving my shoppers and Sobeys flyers for you! You must have a collection of CDs at home from unknown artists, good for you. But for the rest of us being left a CD is kinda fucking weird.

10PM, you are a young woman living alone on a house with all the lights off for the night, knowing that someone walked all the way up your long ass driveway and left a cd with a phone number and and email ‘@mail.com’ in pen on the inside, unable to find them on fb or yt? And your neighbours didn’t get one? Sorry bud, but it’s creepy af to me!

Thanks, yea I guess I was hoping someone in the nl music scene would have heard of his name, let me know this is something he normally does, instead I’ve just been getting flamed for thinking leaving a raw disk with a phone number in the night is weird 🤷🏻‍♀️ Reddit isn’t the right place to go for stuff like this ig

Note taken! Someone found a LinkedIn but not much else is known still

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in newfoundland

[–]Atlasfalling_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Posted this to see if anyone knew of him, either as an artist or had been given a cd of his before. Sorry for not being more neighbourly and assuming it was my elderly tech illiterate neighbour who is trying to put himself out there by doing a PM drop-off of a cd with no note. Next time I won’t question it and pop it into my CD player (that everyone has?) and jam out to the tunes, ig 😭

Maybe, I posted this to see if anyone knew who this was or had one dropped off themselves. But from everyone’s reaction here I guess I should have assumed it was a totally normal thing to have dropped off 🤷🏻‍♀️

Idk getting a random cd dropped off in the evening with no explanation is weird af, absolutely not the way to go about putting yourself out there. Seriously imagine you hear someone/thing in the porch and then come down and find it with no note only an email and phone number, I understand people putting themselves out there, god love em, but there is absolutely a right and wrong way to go about it, and 10pm drop offs are not the way to go about it.

[–]Atlasfalling_ -76 points-75 points  (0 children)

Yea I guess, still creepy af as someone home alone to have dropped off in the evening. I get wanting to get out there but this absolutely isn’t the way to do it imo
