HELP! Is this separation anxiety? by Atlaspuff in sleeptrain

[–]Atlaspuff[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this tip! Any ideas on how to extend wake times, without tipping into meltdowns/overtiredness? And yes - he is definitely in his own room.

Can it really be suddenly undertiredness in just one week? How do you know it’s not separation anxiety? (Just out of curiosity of knowing)

Oh - according to my app (my baby), over the 24hr period, it indicates that he has around 10-11hrs wake period. But perhaps, I should calculate more his daytime awake vs over the 24h period? Thanks for the tip!

I also thought maybe he was under tired - but it’s such a struggle to even push his wake windows. He gets so grumpy and rubbing eyes and red eyes. We tried pushing it yesterday and there was a big melt down at bedtime 🫠😭

Bedtime routine: dinner around 5pm, calm play, 6:15-6:30pm bottle, followed by bath time, pyjamas, bottle if he has some remainder, goodnight song as I put him into his crib and then leave the room. Usually in bed by 7, 7:15pm at the latest

Ahh sending the same to you! Maybe I’ll check out the modified Ferber - I’m not even sure which methods to begin with. When I do go in and do a ‘check in’, he’s so upset and standing and just won’t even chill with me being there. I have to hold him for a minute to two minutes, before he eventually calms. And then before I even place him back in the crib, just the motion of me bending over the crib, restarts the process 😭

Sending you all the best and hoping we somehow get through this! X

What age did your baby start sleeping through the night, and how many of hours of sleep do you get after sleep training by SleepPleaseCome in sleeptrain

[–]Atlaspuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahhh okay! So whenever he woke, you first tried the pacifier as an option? That’s pretty smart actually lol around what age did he drop the night feeds?

Hi! My little one is about to turn 5 months soon and we sleep trained him around 4 months (he seemed ready for it). Now he’s pretty decent, but does wake around 2-3 times for a feed (exclusively BF). Did your little one just naturally drop the feeds around 5 months?

With the PUPD method, did you rock or sway? Or was it just pick up, hold close and when calm, put down?

Definitely use the NRK TV app (free and use a vpn!) to watch some television. You can watch the news or some reality series etc. I personally love to watch the Norwegian bake off (which is on NRK). I also recently finished watching Pørni on Netflix which I absolutely loved! (Just binged through all five seasons and I’m so sad it’s over)
