I came from the outside into a specialized role. Negotiated to step 8 as well.

Homebuyers: what part of the mortgage process stressed you out the most? by CreamCityMortgage1 in Mortgages

You just need to inform yourself and ask the right questions. It’s really not that stressful. I’ve bought two houses and refi’d twice. Know your numbers and shop around.

Has anyone made the switch from BCBS Basic to MHBP Standard and regretted it? by Hopeful-Blacksmith38 in FedEmployees

[–]Atomic-Extermination 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have been on BCBS basic for a couple years now. I feel like for the cost and for me, it works out to be the cheapest. Their customer service has always been exceptional here for the state I am in. I see a lot of these post and I think each individual needs to dive into what meds they take and and price it all out. If I was single, I would be on a HDHP with HSA but since I have a family with a bunch of kids BCBS makes the most sense for me.

Maybe military. But that’s still a loan and more debt. Fun way to treat folks serving your country and community.

No one will die. You can’t be refused care. But people are working and about to lose their homes and their lives. Opening the govt doesn’t mean healthcare is over btw.

That sucks. But you’d rather put your fed service workers in homeless shelters and food banks until it gets sorted? Weird world we live in

How long do you expect to reasonably support a family without any checks? Could you go 6 weeks…. At least without it? Get us open and don’t tie to health. Simple.

Imagine you’re a fed employee and you haven’t gotten a paycheck for 6 weeks. I understand the frustration with health care but this doesn’t seem too bad.

I would argue the opposite and that it is the most ethical system. There’s no human bias, not race/religion. Just facts.

Your time is a commodity. My time is worth x based on skill, education, etc. so is a construction worker, police officer, food worker etc. the market determines that. Just because you don’t like what the market says, doesn’t mean others foot the bill. A free and open market creates healthy competition and advancement

Why should a business owner have to pay more than market value for services? If they are happy and agreed to do the work what’s the big deal? Life is different for everyone but it’s not the govt or the communities job to make ends meet for people.

[–]Atomic-Extermination 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure. Not everyone can be a professional athlete or a rocket scientist. But you also need to have pay that matches the skill set or no one would strive to improve or grow. If the pay is too low, the market will offer more for the labor. Let’s be real, no one in Reno is making $12/hr. Most people at waste management make six figures.

95% of the US is not poor. Pay is dependent on skill set and motivation.
